She walked out carrying a massive book. I recognized what it was right away. It’s the type of book that you use for a portfolio. “You got me a new book?” “Kinda.” Penny showed me the cover. It had a Black Moon with two wolves howling. The leather was fresh as I could smell it. Alec took the cover and opened it for me.

My library professor whose deep commanding voice made my thighs clench during lectures. The man I’d fantasized about bending me over these very tables and fucking me senseless until I can’t remember my name. I opened the book, and the dedication page read: For those who crave quiet darkness.” My breath hitched. I flipped to the next page and started reading. “She knelt before him in the silence of stacks, skirts pushed high, panties already soaked. “Read it out,” He ordered. “Every filthy word, while I taste how wet you’ve become for me.”

Chapter 10 Nathan’s lips crashed against mine with a force that knocked the breath straight out of my lungs. My eyes went wide with shock and my hands flew up to his chest automatically, trying to push him away, but it was like trying to move a brick wall. He was so much stronger than me and right now he wasn’t holding back any of that strength. His mouth was hot and demanding against mine, his lips moving roughly like he was trying to devour me whole. One of his hands tangled in my hair, gripping it tight enough to make my scalp sting, while his other hand pressed against the small of my back, crushing me against his body.

It was open and laid face down as if Jeremy was reading it recently. Jacob picked the book up and looked at the cover, "The Unloved Delta, no Bonds" Jacob, read the title quietly. His chest tightened and he looked toward the hall, listening for Jeremy, and could hear water running. Jacob knows Delta's are a rank within werewolves. Claudius is one, but Jeremy is an Alpha. Even so, Jacob couldn't help but wonder if Jeremy was reading this book because he felt like the Delta was in this book. Jacob placed the bookmark where Jeremy was reading and flipped to the first page. He figured he might as well do something while he waited.

My voice did not shake. The man tilted his head. He didn't have a face, just a shifting darkness where his features should be. "You can call me the Reader," he said. His voice sounded like paper rubbing together. "I am the one who pays for the ink. I am the one who decides if your story ends here or keeps going." Bryan stepped in front of me, his hand on his pistol. "He’s another code, Hazel. Don’t listen to him." The Reader laughed. It was a dry, thin sound. "A copy thinks he has a choice. How cute."

I hope it was an enjoyable read for you because that’s what writing is all about for me, to give readers a chance to immerse themselves in a world they don’t want to get out of and I pray my book was able to do this for you. The first smut scene he came across was tastefully done. He reluctantly stopped reading when he saw an hour had passed.
