Alpha Kyle's POV I paced around the room feeling rather uncomfortable. I was unable to sleep last night as my wolf didn't let me sleep. He had been disturbing me to look for our mate. Rejecting my mate wasn't a good decision as I didn't feel my body again. The pain was more than I had imagined. Even though I had tried to suppress it, I felt I couldn't continue to suppress it.

I had planned to watch the intervention from upstairs. I was still wearing Mariano's shirt, watching as Jace Ivankshov and Mariano conversed in a language that definitely wasn't Italian. Emilio leaned against a wall, looking bored out of his mind. Jace Ivankshov didn't look like a mafioso at all. He was wearing a dark blue collared shirt with a minions pattern on it, light wash jeans, and yellow, yes, yellow, sneakers.

I could see his smile again. Jacob's orders came. It was placed on a white plate but had very little meat. How can the child with us be satisfied? Fortunately, the others came. The one I noticed a few servings was for Jacob. There were only a few of them and Kyle seemed to notice that. "Mr. Perez looks like you're on a diet right now, ah?" its a ridiculous question. Kyle looked at me. "I've been eating earlier, but I just hung up because someone disturbed me," was his meaningful answer.

I tried to reason with Zander to get Derek out of all of this. It was true. It wasn’t his fault I taunted him to piss off his wolf. I knew better. I was about to say more when we were disrupted by clapping hands off the sidelines. I look over and see Alpha Whyatt and Beta Jake. Shit, I hope I’m not in too much trouble.

Kade growls warningly but the blonde just laughs. "Don't be like that, I just thought you'd like to know who's going to be looking after your mate when you're dead." Kade turns towards him and the guy just lifts a gun, pointing it straight at my forehead and carries on talking as though he isn't. "I'm Jeff by the way. You've got to tell me, is she a good fuck? I've seen you two at it a couple of times and I've got to say, she looks like she knows what she's doing. I don't mind a bit of dominance between the sheets. I'm thinking she could ride me all night long, what do you reckon?"

I continued to sit and observe long after I finished my coffee, which lived up to Dorothy’s hype by the way, and was just about to get up to leave when a guy, probably around my age, approached my table. “Hi.” He said, flashing me a set of dazzling white teeth as he gripped the back of the chair directly across from me. “Hello back” I said, almost like a question. “I’m sorry, I noticed you walking through town today, I work at the mechanics across the road.” He said smoothly, as he pointed to the workshop directly across from us “I just got off work and saw you still here, I had to come and introduce myself because there is never anyone new in town, especially anyone my age.
