I watch from my peripheral as she pushes herself off the wall. “Jake,” she says with a knowing smile. “You know, the kid you've been hanging around with. The one you’re pretending is your friend.” A sick feeling churns in my stomach, but I keep my face neutral. “Jake? How do you know him?” Blaire's smile widens, and her eyes gleam with cruel delight. “Oh, sweetie, I know Jake very well. He was my little project. When he was just a kid, all innocent and naive. I thought it’d be fun, you know? He had all these secrets, and I just needed a way in.”

I had made my decision. The heavy metal bolt on the main door screeched as it was drawn back, and Jake stepped inside. The party is a Blast!" Blake said, singing the end part and then bursts out laughing. He was already drunk and Jake seemed tipsy. "Thanks dude! Never knew you were into tree climbing." Jake slaps Blake's back and then laughs.

At that thought his face lightened. Disguised expertly as a casual park-goer, Blake effortlessly assimilated into the cluster of individuals under Jake's guidance. His attire, complete with a wide-brimmed hat and stylish sunglasses, served as a guise that shielded his true intentions. His attention was fixated on the intricate map detailing the trail they were on the cusp of embarking upon. This very terrain, he mused, held a significance that ran deep within Jake's expertise; every contour and feature was etched into Jake's memory.

I asked, looking directly at his broad back. The knife stopped. Jake turned around slowly, the blade glinting under the recessed kitchen lights. But,” he hurriedly spoke before I could ask him the question that dropped on my mind, “that’s not what I want to tell you.” ”What then? You have decided to go bald?” Abby asked and I chuckled. “My father works as a hired assassin and he has been training me to follow in his steps,” Jake dropped that sudden bomb and, while I tried to wrap my head around his words, it made more sense that he was able to handle the gun very well that day.

I think I need to look for him because it's weird that he is in this pack and he has refused to see me for the last three days. "Blake is fucking stubborn."
