"Uhm, can I have your ticket?" Kane raised a brow, amusement flickering in his blue eyes. "Ticket?" he repeated, his voice deep, teasing. The redhead—Mona, according to her name tag—bit down on her plump lower lip, her gaze darting everywhere except at him. "Sorry, it's just... you look familiar." That made him chuckle. Oh, really? He tilted his head slightly, his gaze flickering to the large poster plastered beside her booth—a giant picture of himself, fists raised, the underground champion.

"Around midnight. You were already asleep." "Oh. Okay. How about Sally?" "She's not back yet. Which means we can have some father-daughter-alone time. Why don't you come down so we can talk over breakfast?" "I have nothing to talk about. Can I go back to sleep now?" "Fine. But I thought you'd be interested in telling me all about your boyfriend, Shawn." Jade rolled her eyes. "Shawn's not my boyfriend." "Your mother told her father that every time he spoke about me," Jacob said teasingly.

And I couldn't wait for Avery to wake up and see what an amazing person he was. "Come on. It can't be that bad." "It is bad." Jake laughed, wheezing a little before drawing in deep breaths. "So what do you do?" He asked when I said nothing. "Oh. I'm a waitress at a club." I answered, swiping my hair behind my ears. "That's cool. I code. I build mobile apps and games. I'm currently working on one right now. Wanna see?" Jake asked, pulling out a laptop from his bag.

Jack had promised her a lot of money and had also promised to help her father get back on his feet when they got married and so she was sticking to the plan. "It's nothing when you think about it. It could have been some old wrinkly man, at least Jack is hot." Jess replied and they laughed again. "Seriously though, you don't have to worry about it. Jack's okay. Intense but okay. There has never been any record of violence or irresponsible behaviour for him as far as I can tell, he's just mostly crude but I can handle that." "I bet he's good in bed." Ted's wiggled her eyebrows and smiled sheepishly at Jess and then raised her eyebrows when her sister hesitated.

And not only does it smell amazing, but it tastes just as good. Everyone’s chatting happily as they start to dig into the meal, but I still haven’t heard a peep out of Jade. It’s a little bit funny, considering she’s the most outgoing of Jax’s three sisters- she keeps looking over at Theo and blushing, responding to him like a typical fifteen-year-old girl and quietly swooning. “You two live up at the squad complex as well?” Jax’s mom asks, looking to Theo and Brooke. Theo’s got a mouthful of baked chicken, so Brooke responds for the both of them.

Others cut their way back towards the centre of the pack. A broad stairway climbs from the ground to the top of the wall. Near the bottom stands Damian. He is fighting in his human form, covered in the blood of the enemy. His hands are wearing thick heavy gloves. In his hand still silver blades gleam, and the terror of the blades for a while holds back the enemy. Behind on the upper steps kneels Jake. He is throwing knives into the fray, slowing down the attack of the wolves. “This is not going well, my friends,” Jake says, wiping the sweat from his brow with his arm.

Alpha Kyle's POV I paced around the room feeling rather uncomfortable. I was unable to sleep last night as my wolf didn't let me sleep. He had been disturbing me to look for our mate. Rejecting my mate wasn't a good decision as I didn't feel my body again. The pain was more than I had imagined. Even though I had tried to suppress it, I felt I couldn't continue to suppress it.

I was still in deep thoughts when I heard a male voice. "Hello , I am Jake" he said stretching forth his hand for a handshake. I realised he is the stranger I was admiring earlier. I noticed he was even more handsome than what I saw earlier, he was about 6 feet tall, well built and his six packs stuck out from his shirt. I also discovered he had the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen, short spiky hair which made him look more handsome and his voice sounded like that of an Angel. Well, I haven't seen any Angel in reality but I have seen them in movies.

“Mates have problem leaving their mates alone. I can see how you look at him. Can't you feel it too?” “If you accept Jake, your fated mate, you two will create the strongest pack in existence.” He continued. “So, Jake is a werewolf?” “Yes, and as the son of an Alpha, I can assure you he can protect you. But only if you stop running away.” I nodded in agreement, but suddenly, a wave of nausea struck me. The sheer amount of information was overwhelming and made my head spin. As the feeling faded, I took a deep breath to calm myself before continuing: "I need some time to think this over," I said.

I always watch first. I stand beneath the half-collapsed pavilion, rain slicking my hair back, cloak dripping, the silver insignia of the Moonlit Pack glinting against the stormlight. The battlefield stretches out before me in a smear of motion: soldiers lunging, wolves colliding, steel flashing, the air thick with heat and breath and rage. And then I see him. Jake. My dear brother. He cuts through soldiers like he was born inside a thunderclap — raw, unhinged, feral in a way he never was when we were children. His body moves like something fueled by grief and adrenaline and a desperate, pathetic kind of love.
