I cross my arms over my chest huffily as Jake pulls up the long expanse of driveway to his gorgeous two-story home that practically faces my own. “Emma doesn’t lecture. Althea quickly shut the book, but Jake’s sharp eyes didn’t miss it. He crossed the room in three long strides, snatching the book from her hands. His expression darkened as he read the spell. “No,” he said firmly, slamming the book shut.

Then, softer, almost hesitant: "So... I overheard you talking to Valentina earlier on the phone. Something about kids not being kids and mothers not being mothers. Did I miss a chapter in the ongoing saga of your crazy life?" Before I could answer, before I could explain that Matoe might definitely not be Lucian's biological father, Jake reappeared, his tall frame cutting through the crowd like a beacon, holding three huge sticks of brightly colored cotton candy like trophies he'd won at a carnival game. Beside him walked Joshua, also carrying a stick of cotton candy, looking slightly sheepish but determined, like he'd just faced his greatest fear and come out on the other side. Jake grinned

he replied as he switched off the light. "Jake?" I stopped him as he was about to close the door "Please tell your mother not to keep peeping at me? I'm not a witch I can assure her,I won't fly away with any of her jewelries." I joked. He laughed and winked at me "Go to sleep,Diana.Your stomach needs it" * * * Jake met Jamie crying at the corner of their bedroom. He sighed.Do men ever rest?! He walked up to her and sat down beside her.

“I can help you, Jake. There’s something I can do.” He froze, his sharp gaze locking onto mine. “What do you mean?” I hesitated, choosing my words carefully. “Andrew’s body—it still holds residual energy. I can perform a spell, tap into his memories, and track Jacob that way.” Jake stood abruptly, his presence filling the room. “Absolutely not.” I frowned. “Jake—” “No!” His voice was firm, cutting through the air like a blade. “I won’t let you risk yourself for something so dangerous.”

Jake suggested. Millie would likely enjoy the treasures there, as she was truly one of a kind. Winston looked at Jake, feeling curious. "Ant Market. It's located in an abandoned underground area. Be cautious. People there are only interested in money. They don't care about anyone's safety. Avoid getting noticed, or you might end up in trouble."

"I'm sure he won't say no to me." "Eh... Wow, yeah! I've almost forgotten about that history between you two." He stroked his chin, pondering. His pheromone fluctuation was skyrocketing. Seriously, did he not know that I could feel that? Or, did he foolishly think that his magical potion could shield him from that as well? Anyway, it didn't matter anymore. All I needed now was to get control over the company first. "Luna Selina?" With a light knock, Jake poked his head through the gap in the door.

“I’ll be sure to bake you something special.” “Please do. I can’t stand the taste of magic cake. Or pie.” Mage Jaye used her magic to whisk away the tea tray and all of the cookies. “I’ll make sure it’s fresh,” she said. Then, she got up off of the couch, nodding at him again. Sam gave her the sort of wave a beauty pageant candidate might give from the stage, and Mage Jaye headed toward me, toward the door. Her eyes were narrowed as she looked at me. I simply stepped aside, not even turning around as the door opened and closed behind me.

When they leave, my father tells me. "Are you ready for fencing?" "Of course." "Get up then," he tells me and gets up. "Let's go."
