It glowed green because it possessed some sort of magic, or curse. It had taken away Silver’s strength. I wondered if it was permanent? “My good cousin,” Jake said, shaking his head. “I’m going to give you one more chance. And if our alliance doesn’t work out, then so be it. I’m prepared for that. But know this.” He brought his head in close to mine. I felt his hot breath on my face. I recoiled in disgust. “I don’t know what sort of monster you are,” he seethed. “But it doesn’t matter. I have a way to kill you, no matter what you are. Cross me again and I will.”

A seemingly endless number of walkways weaved from the center stairs and downward. I took a deep breath, noting the tang of something sour in the air, like curdled milk. The voices of thousands echoed as trolls, fairies, gremlins, and other magical creatures busily rushed around. It was a city. "What is this place?" I finally asked. "This is Varden, the place where all the scientific magic happens," he responded, pushing his bulky body past me and walking briskly along the path. The metal shuddered under his weight, and I held my breath. Snow let out a tiny scream.

The warrior told me; his voice laced with fear. Mind linking Jake, I told him where Jason was and how to get there. We would end this today. …….. Having arrived at the entrance to the dungeon I was stunned to see that Jake and his group had already dealt with the wolves standing guard. “This prick said Jason has a witch down there, we will need Henrik to cast his magic block spell or whatever the f*ck he calls it” I nodded to Jake as I closed my eyes summoning Henrik.

She said wild eyed. I chuckled. “No,” I helped her get up. “Guys, look.” Sil pointed at the wall where the black hole first appeared. A ring formed in the wall, a crowded street was on the other side, as if it was some sort of wormhole or something. No one seemed to be paying us any attention. “The Ackbeth.” Luna said with a smile playing on her lips. The place looked like a normal market. Vendors here and there shouting out what they have. Shoppers with extremely big bags on both their arms.

Nice to meet you Kate, Jake said with his cute dimples out again. Nice to meet you Jake, Kate said with a little smile. Jake sat down and ordered a cup of tea and a piece of cake as well and Kate went back to her food. While eating, Jake cannot stop himself to look at Kate. He got mesmerized by Kate’s beauty.

I can't rely on the people in my life, My parents ignore me, or are cruel to me, my friends are unreliable, and aren't trustworthy either. I said, my voice squeaking as I swung my legs to the side of the bed, trying to get up. "Wha— are you sure? You still look kinda tired," Jake looked at me, a frown on his face at my sudden behavior, his eyes wide and questioning. It almost made me feel bad, but the thought that they were going to cook and somehow burn down the house, wasn't something I was looking forward to. I could use my magic to prevent that, yes, though I wasn't still sure if I could use my magic to full force as I normally would.

Giving auntie Meg one last hug, I ran towards Jacob. "I got the stash, so don't worry if you didn't get any from yours," I whispered in Jacob's ear. He just winked his eye twice; that was our secret way to say he completed his mission as well. Double the snacks, that means! I couldn't help but squeal and hug him. Everyone turned to us and chuckled while shaking their heads. "You know, auntie Meg was telling me that wolf kingdom's castle is so big that it's bigger than cinderella's and prettier than Elsa's ice castle. Do you believe that?" I asked Jacob

Marguerite managed, "just terribly hungry." She cast a worried glance at the market stalls. "Jake," she whispered, "We don't have any money left. How can we afford food?" A confident smile played on Jacob's lips. "Leave it to me," he said. "Stay put with Chester. I'll be right back." Marguerite harbored doubts. Could he simply ask strangers for handouts and expect success? But Jacob proved himself a true charmer. Within minutes, he reappeared with two hefty sandwiches overflowing with fillings and a portion of fresh meat for Chester.

I lied smoothly. Jake frowned. “The library holds ancient magical texts. I’m not letting anyone poke around in there.” he snarled. I pouted, stepping closer. “Please, Jake. Just for a bit. I promise I won’t mess with anything dangerous.” I knew he wasn't going to give into my acts so easily. Jake has been uptight and conscious since Lyra's disappearance but every man had a soft spot. I batted my lashes and spoke in a soft, pleading voice. "Please.."
