She'd been locked in the room, so she hadn't even had the chance to see Jane for the last time. Lucille had been released out of the room when the maid had found her in the afternoon, but it had been too late—William had already cremated Jane's body within three hours of her death. Lucille didn't know why William hadn't let her see Jane for one last time. That was also the first time she'd argued with William. That had also been the first time he'd slapped her. Later, Lucille had found out she wasn't the only one who hadn't seen Jane. Marie hadn't gotten to see her either. She'd asked Marie when she'd gotten older and found out about it.

"By the way, I asked Jane to put the gifts that you didn't open in the room where you used to live. If you want to open them, I'll take you back." Elizabeth opened the gifts for so long yesterday, and those were all fine gifts, but most of them were ornaments or paintings. After all, it was their wedding, and the guests couldn't send the gifts which only catered to one of them. "There's no need. You can deal with them by yourself. You can find time to come back, or ask Jane to open them. Now I am not as excited as I was last night, and I don't want to move anymore." "Alright, just stay at home and don't think too much."

The parlour and her family would always have a place in her heart. Jane was happy for her, wishing only the best and more than happy to carry on where she would leave off. She was more than capable for her role and she had shown that a few times. As planned, tomorrow would be her last day at the parlour and everything was in place. All she needed to do was inform the rest in the morning and wish them well. Jane stood at the door of her study chamber watching her in silence and though she could see her from the corner of her eyes. "Have you read any of Jane Austen's novels?" she asked me excitedly. "Yes! Pride and Prejudice is one of my all-time favorites," I replied, smiling at her enthusiasm. "Oh my gosh, I love that one too! Mr. Darcy is just so swoon-worthy," Elaine gushed, her cheeks turning pink. I laughed at her reaction. "I have to admit, I may have a bit of a crush on him myself."

Jane said, opening a cabinet to reveal a small fridge containing some champagne, sparkling juice, and wines. “Champagne?” Jane offered and Antheia just nodded. She poured on their glasses and handed one to Antheia which she took a sip from. Jane emptied her glass in one shot, and then walked to the landline telephone, ringing the maid’s room. “Hello, please send the chief maid Tessa to the ladies’ chamber. Tell her to bring a robe for our guest.” Jane ordered and the other person on the line immediately complied.
