Jeannette Walls Dad Novels & Stories

LAKE I grabbed my phone, facing down the desk, when it vibrated. I had only received a few calls from my personal phone, and I had a feeling it was my father. Wallace Winston, a billionaire tycoon, was a good man for most people who didn’t know him personally. It was because of the generous donations he gave to the charity organizations he supported, but behind closed doors, he was a fucking son of a bitch. The moment he and my mother divorced, he changed. So, I grew up with a backbone and eventually became callous. I built walls around my emotions, my feelings, and my heart.

she said softly. “My father married into the Yeager family because he didn’t really have a great background. The Yeager family has never liked him. After being insulted by the Yeager family, Dad left to make his own way. I haven’t even seen him much in the past few years. Dustin, do you know where he is right now?” Patricia looked at Dustin expectantly.

I raised my eyebrows, surprised that Warren had told her about the grudge between my father and Johnny. A year ago, Warren's family moved back to Los Angeles from Ottawa. He brought with him a secret. My father, who died in a war, didn't perish by accident but was pushed forward by his comrade, Johnny, to be his shield. That Johnny, who killed my father, is Jessica's father. At first, I didn't believe it. But as Warren presented more and more evidence, I started having my people investigate, and more evidence pointed to Johnny. He was the murderer of my father.

Deep down, I had always sensed that my dad wasn’t telling the whole story. Before I could respond, he continued, "The reason he approached your mom was for revenge against the Wilson family. Your dad was a mafia boss seeking retribution. He knew he couldn’t confront them directly, so he used your mother as a pawn. But his plans fell apart when she got pregnant, and he fled, terrified that the Wilson family would uncover his identity."

dad said excitedly. Yeah let's go meet my dad's wife. Man my father is like a kid who just got candy from his nana. It's good to see dad like this it's been nearly 5 years now. Dad said I should go inside because he wants to get our things from the car. Just as I was about to knock a fucking goddess open the door like man she's got beautiful tanned skin, beautiful blue eyes you could drown in,small nose and full kissable lips. I didn't even realise I was staring nope scratch that admiring this goddess before me until she cleared her throat.

“Your dad… Have you found out any information lately?” “Do you still remember that on the day we got married, my parents had a car accident and then, John Rockefeller jumped out to accuse my father of corruption and bribery, collusion with the Japanese, collaboration with the enemy and treason... At that time, the person who came to sit on this unjust case and nail my father to the pillar of shame was Jacob Yoder!” Dorothy was startled. “I remembered that officer. Indeed, his last name was Yoder.” Alex then smiled to himself. “But, do you know? I recently found out some more information. My father was once the chief instructor of a certain special operation unit in America, called the Hidden

I put on a bright smile and walk to them. "Good morning Mrs. Williams. Mother, dad is ready. He'd like to see you." I say and they share a goodbye hug. "I'm sorry but dad can't meet you today." I start explaining as I look at the beautiful older woman in front of me. Jada Williams and her husband Jayden Williams are good friends of my dad and one of the shareholders of the company. Come to think of it, they are Ryans parents!

My dad was also a member of the white house but not in a higher position than Mr Dalton Sullivan. I can't tell how both parents became family friends but I am aware they were a little bit close at times and that they were both members of the white house. My dad was not a senator but a lawyer before he died. I took over his dreams. What brought about the marriage deal is what I can't comprehend. The Sullivans are rich, bastardly rich, and not of our standard, notwithstanding their relationship with my dad as members of a chamber, they wouldn't want their only son to be married to a common secretary at a common law firm.

“Vi, darlin’, go ahead. It’s more your story to tell than mine.” “You mean my secret to tell.” His mother, his sweet, practical, sometimes judgmental mother, tossed back the whiskey without batting an eyelash. “I won’t drag out the details. You boys never knew my father, God rest his soul, and I’m grateful. For being a man of God, Elmore Bennett wasn’t a nice man. He ruled his home with the Bible in one hand and a hickory switch in the other.

Walker continues to explain to me. I think this is so absurd as I look at Mr. Walker’s serious face. My mouth could not utter any words. I was speechless. Great-grandfather! It all sounds like a joke to me. I scoffed and shook my head. "It can't be. Dad was just an ordinary guy. He worked in New York as a clerk and moved to West Virginia after he married mom and they — they had me." I stood up when I felt the chair getting hotter for me to sit on. But more importantly I felt like I was betrayed.
