Jeannette Walls Dad Novels & Stories

“You know you need to have a woman by your side if you want your grandfather to completely relinquish the family business to you. I am trying so hard to secure your future, Felix, why are you ruining it with excuses and frivolities? Are you trying to lose everything you worked so hard to achieve, do you want to lose your inheritance? You seem to forget about your half-brother from your father's whore who is waiting patiently for the opportunity to take your place.” She yelled angrily. So, it turns out that the real reason Dad never looked back after he was kicked out was because he was having a secret affair with Mom’s best friend, Aunt Lizzie Benson.

Jolene's friend said angrily as she stood beside Jolene, comforting her. Jenny was stunned to hear that. She didn't expect the woman who was badmouthing her to be the Walters' daughter. It was quite a coincidence, but a bad one. Seeing that Jenny didn't respond, Jolene thought she was scared and immediately became even more smug. "So you're scared now, huh? Let me tell you, my dad is the CEO of Walter Inc, which owns this building you're standing on. Everything here belongs to my family. Don't think we're alike just because we have the same surname. Let me tell you, we're worlds apart."

I found my dad leaving the gym with a towel around his neck from his workout. “We need to talk.” “Do you mind if your old man showers first?” “I mind.” He sighed knowing this was THE talk. We entered the den and my father took his favorite reclining chair. I sat in the less comfortable Victorian loveseat. “Start at the beginning. Why the hell did you hire Senator Jacobs’ son?” “He’s the best. He went to military school, became a Marine, and then a cop. You needed the best.” I vaguely remembered my father complaining one time about Senator Jacobs’ stupidity for not pulling strings and getting his only child a plush military assignment during his enlistment. This wasn’t what I was after, thoug

“Can’t blame me dad, there’s so much on the line.” ***************** WILLIAM’S P.O.V. “Hey son, I’ve got pretty good news” My dad said once he pushed my door open walking in “Found something about my girlfriends kidnap?” I asked nonchalant from my study desk “Time son– time” My dad pacified and for a second I wondered if I could just give the job to Enrique and Diane “So, what’s it about” “Remember Mr. Carter?” “Roselines father” “Ah- I see you’ve gotten aquainted with the girl”

My father told me to go home for the weekend, and Genny simply grunted, pulling me along without a single friendly look at her father. I asked her, bewildered, if the Chairman was a relative. Genny hesitated, then confessed that he was her father. Shock didn’t even begin to describe my reaction. I couldn’t reconcile the image of a poor student working part-time jobs with that of the Donald’s family’s eldest daughter. Yet, her life had been complicated, after her mother died, her father’s mistress moved in, and she had suffered for years. She hated mistresses more than anything; in fact, she hated Julian even more than I did.

The complexities of balancing personal and professional aspects of their lives lingered in the room, leaving them both with a shared understanding that the path to a more open relationship required careful consideration and patience. *********************** Jayden sat in his office, the dim light casting a contemplative atmosphere around him. His mind was occupied with the weight of a business deal, one that seemed elusive without the support of a powerful ally. The person who held the key to this particular venture was none other than his father, Bryan.

Jonathan nodded and I continued. “I have told you before about my mom dying when I was ten. About a year after she died, my dad tried to get back together with his first wife. I have a half-sister two years older than me. We lived with them until that wife left when I was 16. You know all that. What I never told you is why she left. My dad was and is involved in a lot of criminal activity. A lot of drugs and other shit that I don’t even want to think about. When his first wife left, things got really bad for me. My dad would beat me terribly. One night, he allowed one of his associates to spend the night with me. It happened again several times after that.” I paused as the tears fell down my

“Dad, whatever it is, I can handle it!” He exhaled. “Um, my mom had an affair with Wayne’s dad. Wayne. Snr. He was the sheriff too.” My jaws nearly dropped. Dad never talked about his childhood or his parents. As far as I knew, my grandparents were long dead. I thought the memories were too heavy for him to repeat them but now, I could see he had terrible memories for a totally different reason.

That He is the New York Cosa Nostra? “What truth?” Jennifer whispered to herself. “David Carter, please leave my house and while I am away, I don't want you anywhere near my wife. If I hear that you were in the same room with her, I'll squeeze the breath out of your soul.” Jerald promised. He never met eye to eye with his father? What really happened between the two? “You're forgetting something, Son. I am the one who taught you all those things.” “And never taught yourself to be a father.” Jerald said and Jennifer gasped way too loud that they heard her and looked at her direction

No. That couldn't be real. My father had been kind, quiet, and protective. He used to help neighbors carry groceries. He used to read to me before bed. That man couldn't be part of a gang. “Please continue,” I whispered. He leaned forward slightly. “Your father joined the gang when he was young. But what made him important wasn't just his position.” I slowly lifted my eyes to him. “What do you mean?” “He was dating someone.” My heart started racing again. “Who?”
