He turned to look at me as if he heard me, my eyes widened, that was a cue for me to dash away. I quickly made my way to where Aria was, her eyes glued on Derrick who was just so good at football, leaving the girls smitten. "Go baby!" She shouted as I handed her a soda. "You took so long" she said, and I wouldn't dare to tell her why, I opened the soda and took couple of gulps. "Is Jena here yet?" I asked to avert the topic. Jake growled again, taking a threatening step forward. Xander braced himself like a man preparing for a noble death. Aria flung herself between them. “Dad, STOP!” Her voice cracked. “He’s mine.” Jake froze. Aria looked back at Xander with shaking breath. “And I’m his.” Xander’s expression shattered — softening, breaking, rebuilding — all at once. Jake looked like he had swallowed a live grenade. However seeing him brought her relief as she hugged him, raining kisses on his face. They were interrupted by the sound of cursing and struggling and they broke away. Rachel screamed and Shawn charged at Sergio when they saw him trying to strangle Jade with his belt. Shawn punched him in the face and he retaliated, involuntarily allowing Jade to break free. An opportunity she gladly took. Pulling the belt from his hand, she immediately bounced to her feet and kicked him in the groin.
