Xasha and Gooseman entered the greenhouse. The first thing that greeted him was the thick smell of plants. The room was stacked with shelves filled with medicinal herbs, trees, and flowers. Verra was holding a flowerpot with a small purple plant with 2 leaves barely sprouting from it. The plant was around 2 inches tall and had amazing energy radiating from it. Verra was holding it delicately. It was as if she was afraid that it would run away if she loosened her grip for a second.

“If you go round the back of the house and walk a little further, you'll be on a cleared path. Take the path straight down until you see a glass structure, he's in there.” I stayed quiet. “He won't hurt you, if that's what you're worried about,” she said when I didn't say anything. “Come in here after,” she said before ending the call. I came down from the car, turning to face Gabriel. “Thank you Gabriel, for everything.” He gave me a mock salute. “At your service ma'am.” I followed the direction that Jenna gave me and found myself standing at the entrance of a greenhouse. It wasn't hard to spot Luca's black shirt amongst the lush green plants that filled the building.

"You haven't seen half the property yet. Want me to show you?" We walked for quite a while. Then the large barn came into view. Needed some care. Behind was the greenhouse. Jenna's POV As I head back to my room, the embers of Greta’s words still smolder in my chest, sparking an unexpected fire. I can’t quite shake the idea that’s taken root in my mind—this old inn, worn but sturdy, could be more than just a shelter. Greta has given us a roof, and maybe that’s all she meant it to be, but I feel it could become so much more. The council and their spies may be relentless, yet the thought of creating a place of true refuge here, hidden away from their reach, fills me with a hope I haven’t felt in a long time.

Nara would have a fit if she knew, but the genuine grin Millan sends Weston’s way is worth every trouble. ***** The greenhouse is magical. There’s no other word for it. It’s enormous, made of glass, letting the light filter through every corner. There’s a section with flowers Millan passes through without a second glance. But the back is all vegetables and plants growing on every surface and ponds with water lilies, toads and colorful fishes. It’s wonderful. Weston is holding the hand not trapped in his sling while Millan makes appreciative sounds, mind momentarily distracted from the image of his father alive and restrained in some kind of cell.

“I have. I thought it weird to ask if I could garden at an abandoned greenhouse deep in the garden so I just sneak out to take care of the plants.” Megan’s heart grew warm. “Thank you.” Was all she said in response. “It’s yours?” “My baby, as I fondly called her. I had to leave due to…issues.” “Oh, she’s a she.” “Is it weird that I gave my greenhouse a name? Her name’s Rina.” Megan said, awkwardly. “No, my queen. It’s not weird at all.” “It’s beautiful here. POV: MARA KADE Jenna's flat is in Peckham. Third floor of a Victorian terrace with a front door that sticks in cold weather and a staircase that creaks on the fourth and seventh steps and a landing that smells faintly of whatever Jenna is cooking, which today is something with garlic and something with onions and something that has been on the hob long enough to have filled the whole floor.

Mara hissed. The fence was high, topped with razor wire that glinted faintly under the moonlight. Mara pulled out a small toolkit, swiftly cutting through the mesh. The sharp scent of metal filled the air. Jenna’s heart threatened to burst as they slipped inside the estate grounds, the manicured lawns and carefully placed statues a stark contrast to the danger lurking in every shadow. “Remember,” Mara said, voice low, “we’re here for information. No heroics.” They moved quickly toward the main house, a sprawling mansion guarded by cameras and motion sensors. Jenna’s mind raced, remembering every detail Mara had shared about the layout.

Terri inquired. Kim smiled and said, "Jenna is the typical eighteen year old. She comes and goes and sometimes she stays here with some friends and other times she will have friends come over just for the day. One of the challenges you will have is to keep order when she has friends over. As we told you during the interview we want you to be in charge and care for our home as if it was yours.
