Syra’s expression twisted with something between triumph and dread as she whispered, “Not dead, not gone, never gone.”
The hand gripped the edge of the fissure, and another followed, and slowly the towering form of the Bonebinder pulled itself from the earth, its mask of bone cracked but unbroken, its eyes glowing like embers in a fire that refused to die. The wolves staggered back, fear rippling through their ranks, but Kaela stepped forward, blade raised, her voice sharp and defiant. “You should have burned with the unraveling. You do not belong here.”
