Oh, Jessie’s knee got scratched by a thorny plant when we were walking through the forest. But, Rose has treated her knee. Oh, we forgot to introduce Rose,” Jansen replied. Rose? Who was Rose? An ordinary-looking young woman got out of the car. Her face was cute with her long brown hair down. Her innocent lips, with no lipstick, smiled gently and her beautiful brown eyes looked at me and her body bowed.

Sawyer stubbornly tried to use the last of the funds Jessa left behind. By using this money, Sawyer was trying to chase the feeling that Jessa had left a mark on this world. Yet, when he keyed in the password, a video popped up on the screen. In the video, Jessa was sitting in a brightly sunlit garden and elegantly sipping tea. She wore a white dress and looked resplendent.

“Bring her back as a human, Queen Marasela. What matters is that she’s alive. Or bring her back as a mermaid but erase Lucas from her heart and mind. I know you can do that! Please, I’m begging you!” Jessa’s voice wavered, her emotions raw and barely contained. Despite the tremble, there was an undeniable urgency that undercut the vulnerability. Each word she spoke seemed to carry the weight of a thousand unspoken fears, a desperate plea that transcended her own suffering. Her eyes, wide and pleading, locked onto Queen Marasela with a fierce intensity that left no room for doubt. This was not just a request—it was a demand born from a friendship so deep that it threatened to consume her.

Jake asks once we are all settled in the living room after breakfast. Josh has taken Rose outside to the nearby lake, where she wants to watch the water. Josh is twelve years old and one of the few kids in our group. He has been rescued from the same cells where I was held. "I was practicing speaking for a long time but started pushing myself real hard when Rose asked me to speak to her normally." A soft smile curves the corners of my mouth. "I guess, again, she made me do something impossible."

Jake barely acknowledged her, his attention stayed fixed on me and the woman noticed. Her smile faltered for the briefest moment before she recovered quickly. "Oh," she said, glancing between us. "Am I interrupting something?" She asked. "No," I answered immediately. "Yes," Jake said at the same time. I looked at him in disbelief. The woman raised a brow, clearly entertained now. Jake finally turned toward her. "Vanessa, this is Jessica." His voice sounded calm, but the intensity in his eyes remained dangerous. Vanessa smiled politely at me. "Nice to meet you."

Jessa, the old witch, closed the door of her eerie home with a resounding thud, causing both Elvie and Jasmine to startle. They exchanged uneasy glances as they took a seat in the dimly lit room. Jessa settled in front of them, her pale, bony fingers drumming on a rickety wooden table. In her unsettling, raspy voice, Jessa inquired, "Why do you seek my help?” Elvie, her determination unwavering, leaned forward and answered, "We need a powerful potion, one that will make our future alpha fall deeply in love with me."

Steph said gently. “I am,” I said. She tilted her head. “Like… a counselor?” I shook my head. “Not exactly.” The silence stretched. “You know we’re here for you, right?” Rina said. I looked at both of them—these girls who knew versions of me that I no longer recognized. Who saw a Jasmine who laughed too much and tried too hard and always acted like she had a plan. That Jasmine wasn’t gone. But she was… adrift. “I know,” I whispered. “Thanks.”

Of course I wanted his number then I replied, "What is your name?" I sat my phone down so I could dry off and get dressed. Then like clock work another ping from I*******m. He asked, "What is your name beautiful?" I began to blush then replied. "My name is Elisabeth Rose Freeman ,but everyone calls me Beth", I messaged back. He then replied, "Vladius Lee Sinclair, nice to meet you Beth". I then in return sent my number to him. I finished getting ready for the day. I was planning on cleaning up my dorm room.

“We need to be smart, whoever is behind this knows too damn much, they know about your mom. About the orphanage and about Ethan. They have access, Kelvin… Inside access.” He wasn’t wrong. “This isn’t random,” he continued. “This is personal and I think…” He hesitated. “What?” My voice darkened, low and tensed. Josh tapped the folder on the table. “We’re dealing with someone close enough to bypass security without triggering anything and someone who wants you to see this… and break.” The silence stretched. Josh inhaled slowly. “And right now you’ve gotten Rose involved by letting them see her with your mom…We need to—”

Every smile, a threat. Jake’s voice crackled in her earpiece. “Target one—Zhen Qiao. Arrived alone. Black dress, emerald earrings. Near the south bar.” “I see her,” Isabella said, eyes narrowing. Alexander approached her, dressed in a perfectly tailored tuxedo, every inch the dangerous businessman and strategist he was. “How many so far?” “Five confirmed,” Isabella murmured. “Two maybes. One ghost.” He offered his arm. “Shall we make a scene?”
