Alora's Windsong
We were all there, me, Blaise, Jenna, Mara, and Alpha Ryker, all the people who carried too many truths to keep silent any longer, and Kira, my father's most powerful sorcerer, was on her way.
Ryker poured himself a drink but didn’t touch it. His eyes were distant, fixed on the flames. “You all need to hear this,” he said. “Every word of it.”
Jenna leaned forward, worry shadowing her face. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost, Ryker.”
He gave a bitter half-laugh. “Both a ghost and a Goddess.”
The words dropped heavily in the room.
I glanced at Mara, she didn’t flinch, just folded her hands together as if she’d been waiting for this moment for a long time.
