He clicked. The screen flickered. Hayden was there. In Dr. Lana’s office. Sitting in a chair, eyes closed, his voice low, slow, almost slurred. “Hypnosis?” I asked. “Yeah,” Hayden responded. “Dr. Lana and I had three hypnosis sessions. This was the last—right before I uncovered the bribery.” “Tell me what you see,” Dr. Lana’s voice echoed from the speakers. Hayden’s recorded self shook his head. “I—I didn’t do it.”

Edward said. “There is no such thing as talking skeletons,” I repeated. Edward had me continue repeating the mantra while he turned on a metronome. The slow ticking of the metronome lulled me into a somewhat dazed state. Next, he described images to me; peaceful scenery, like the ocean at sunset, or a field of flowers, to help me relax. I started to breathe deeply and felt my heart rate slow down, and soon I was completely susceptible to Edward’s hypnosis…

The rest of the team eventually find themselves back from lunch, and the hours that pass consist of a 30-minute team meeting, light chatter, and the occasional eye-contact with Cade. After we spoke at the parking garage last night, I kept trying to figure out how I’m supposed to help him. I tried to read up on everything hypnosis while I laid in bed, and nothing I found seems remotely helpful. What’s worse is that there’s no public record of whatever hypnotherapy ‘Treatment #3427’ is. I suppose that’s the point of having kept his file in the NSA system. For all I know, it may have permanently altered his mind and nothing I do will change that.

Upon my arrival I spotted Silas seated on a swing just a few meters away from the youths who were playing football. “Silas,” I said when I got to where he was seated. He made the same irritated look when he saw me. I knew that we would never get used to our smell. “Marcus, why have you called me?” he asked. “Yesterday, when I asked you to hypnotize Kelvin, did you do it?” “Yes, I did,” he replied. “No you didn’t,” I interrupted him. “If you took away the memories of that night from him then how is it that he still knows about it?”

We all remained composed and silent until he finished his narration. Uncle Malkiel started by correcting the lawyer. "Sir, you forgot to mention that Vera attempted to r*pe Vaughn but failed." Vera's gasp and Sam Bexley's blazing eyes were comical. "What do you mean?" Sam Bexley's lawyer asked. Uncle Malkiel took out a file and presented it to the judge. "These are the results of the hypnosis done by Vaughn Everette. The session was done by the specialist from Milan together with the Malta forensic team. The commissioner of police was present and he signed off on the document."

Alpha Greyson drinks coffee at this time. Why does hearing his voice seem to have made me forget everything Gina had told me? "I will follow, Your Majesty," Miguel said, and I could hear him approaching us. I noticed him approaching Joan, one of the housekeepers we were with. "Serve the coffee," Miguel said. Miguel's eyes narrowed when he noticed me staring at him. I quickly bowed and averted my gaze. What exactly am I doing? Damn! "What's taking so long?" Alpha Greyson asked impatiently as Miguel walked back to the Alpha king's side. While my head was still bowed, I blinked twice. Long? Joan has just left!

"Caleb will handle it." Lila lowered her gaze, feigning disappointment. But before she turned away, she cast me a fleeting look—something I couldn’t quite decipher. Was it irritation? Amusement? A secret satisfaction? My paranoia flared again. Emerson sat down across from me, studying me carefully. "How are you feeling today?" I exhaled, forcing a wry smile. "A little better after a shower. Still... muddled." He nodded, his fingers tapping lightly against the table. "I spoke to the psychiatrist. He believes hypnosis might help you retrieve some lost memories. If you’re up for it, we can go today."

She clung to Damian’s hand because the world had no other solid thing to hold. Jonah’s screen flickered. He looked up, and in his eyes there was that mixture of triumph and dread you see in people who solve puzzles that cut. “I’ve isolated a clean audio file,” he said. “I can play it at full bandwidth. But once you hear it, you hear it. No taking it back.” The room contracted into the small space around the laptop. Everyone in the room held their breath like an ocean tides itself for an incoming wave. Jonah clicked and the whisper came through — clearer, singular, unmistakable.

It was a photo of a young man who looked somewhat similar to him. It was obvious who the person in this photo was. Micah stroked Quincy's face in the photo. His voice was still as cold as ever without the slightest ripple. "I did tell you that it would last a lifetime, but I also told you that hypnosis isn’t a spell. There are still weaknesses. The hypnosis I cast on Julien was to make him firmly believe that you're Maple Leaf. However, once someone tells him you're not Maple Leaf, or if he discovers it himself, the hypnosis will gradually weaken and he'll change back to his original self."

Then, he proceeds to hypnotize himself. That person who experienced such a vile thing was not him. He needs to put them in a capital letter. The man who got raped was not him. The miserable person who got done by that beast was not him. THAT MAN WAS NOT HIM. He repeated the sentence multiple times, stressing his point. Just treat the memory as an adult rating movie. Yes, that was a free educational program in which he was an active participant that unwilling to join. The tense shoulders slightly sagged down. Furthermore, despite the oppressive pressure Hu Zhi Ming emitted, Ryan didn't sense any threat or ill intention from him. The familiar scent emanating from his body also, bit by bit, pus
