“There was never a ring on mine, either. It was you, MATTY. Always.” JASPER gripped either arm on his wheelchair and forced himself to stand. Breathing heavy, one hand clutched the side of the council table as the other reached for the gavel. He lifted the wooden hammer, bringing it down with a force that spoke of inner strength, despite his weakness.

Joe Wright first held her in his arms, and when he saw that she couldn't see with her neck up, he raised his hand and put her on his shoulder. "Well, do you see it this time?" He held Keira steady and asked in a loud voice. Keira exclaimed excitedly, "Yes! Wow, Justin Davis is a really handsome brother! Alex Brown stood at the side and saw his daughter smiling happily on Joe Wright's shoulder. If he was healthy, he would be able to hold his daughter high and make her happy. But now, these hands can not even lift heavy things, and even yesterday, after his daughter fell asleep, he was not sure that he could safely take her back to her room.

"Aww you guys are so helpless without me." I rolled my eyes and punched his arm softly. "Thanks." I expressed, "You shouldn't have done that but then you do stupid stuff all the time." Logan smiled up at me. "I had promised to protect you and I never break promises." I swallowed my tears. "I am so glad you are awake and fine." I said, meaning every word, if anything had happened to him I would have never forgiven myself. "It wouldn't have been your mistake Joey." Logan assured, patting my hand. "It was my own idea and I don't regret it one bit. Though I have to use a wheelchair for some days."

Their wedding is bound to be a beautiful celebration, filled with joy, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. Parking my wheelchair beside the bed, I reach for the sturdy handle my father installed just for moments like these. I brace myself, putting as much weight on my legs as I can manage, and hoist myself over onto the mattress. But while he’s away, it’s just you and me. We’ll have so much fun together, okay?" Jessica thought for a moment before nodding, a small smile returning to her face. Daimon stood in the background, watching them silently. "Miss Iris," Ertha said, her voice polite yet firm. "Boss asked me to bring you this wheelchair. Since your leg is still injured, he wants you to use it for now."

The apartment was empty except for the two of them. "What happened?" Owen asked. Lucas didn't answer immediately. He opened the refrigerator and stared into it without taking anything out. The light from inside cast shadows across his face. "Marco needs a new wheelchair," Lucas said finally. His voice was hollow. Empty of everything except fact. "The one he has is breaking down. The cushion is deteriorating. It's causing pressure sores on his skin. Carla took him to the doctor yesterday. They said we need a new one. A real one. Not the one we bought five years ago."
