He was so focused that he barely blinked. '' You really love this thing, don't you?" I muttered, giving a smile to lighten the mood. He gave a crooked smile without taking his eyes off the screen. '' There's nothing like a classic. Jason is unbeatable.'' '' Jason is from Friday the 13th.'' I retorted, laughing. ''Michael Myers is from Halloween.'' He looked at me sideways and laughed. '' See? You know it too.''

I asked softly. "Not anymore," he replied, his voice gentler than I'd ever heard it. Soon, Lily fell asleep, her little face flushed like a contented kitten. I burst out laughing. "You think Tom sent that text? That was me." Jacob's face went slack. "You don't mean Edgar…" Exactly. I killed Edgar. Guess what happened? His wife chopped him up in the middle of the night!” Jorvan excitedly described the gruesome scene and watched me closely for my reaction. Based on what he was saying, I guessed that “Old Man Hurley” had failed in maintaining his cover as a character and was brutally murdered by the ghouls.

His wrinkled face looked like it was crawling with countless wriggling worms. I shuddered and stepped back, whispering to Silvia, "Good thing I've got you. This place is terrifying." She snorted and suddenly shoved me forward, straight toward George. With an icy laugh, she said, "This pretty boy will make a great offering. You're going to love him." Before I could react, George gestured, and several eerie puppets stepped forward to pin me down and drain my blood. A sharp bell rang out, echoing through the night.

“Jesse, my man, which is why I’m encouraging you to talk some more! It doesn’t have to be about anything life changing. If you were me I’d say crack a joke but I don’t know if you even know any jokes.” “I know jokes.” His face lit up. “Oh yes? Tell me one then.” “Can you guess what the therapist said when I told my therapist I’m scared of dying alone? “Uh, no what?” “He said, “Most people don’t die with the company,” I said, chuckling. “Get it?” Rain looked at Matt. “Matt, am I supposed to laugh at that?” “Ideally someone is supposed to laugh when they tell a joke,” Matt said with a sigh. “Jesse, what have I told you about your morbid jokes?”

He continues to ramble, and I cover my mouth with my hands to prevent myself from giggling out. “And what's funny?“ He shoots me a stare. I shake my head, still struggling to keep comport myself. "I'm sorry, did you say werewolves?“ “You heard me right. Werewolves are real," he says, glaring at me. When I couldn't hold it in any longer, I burst out laughing, holding my stomach as it ached from the impact. “Oh my, I didn't know you knew how to make a joke this funny. Come on, we all know werewolves don't exist. I say as I wipe off a tear from my left eye.

Chloe asked in a soft voice. “Lively feasts… I bet it smelled so good…” The little hungry ghost licked his lips. “Granny, you’ve had it rough,” grumbled the poltergeist.
