She just strode right through the mess, all calm and unbothered, her silk tunic still spotless (how does she do that?!). Lively and cheerful, she could make even a funeral feel like a brunch. Her name suits her perfectly, and honestly, so does her marriage to Kingston, even though I know nothing about it. However, before anyone could answer her question, it seemed like Providence wanted to answer her question himself.

The day had already edged into one-hundred-degree territory: thinking about tromping around the vineyard with the sun beating down did not sound remotely pleasant. Have you seen a ghost?” Joy quickly nodded before frantically shaking her head, saying, “No, I saw something even scarier than a ghost!” While saying that, Joy pulled Wynn to the side and whispered, “Wynnie, am I seeing this right? Is this Philip Clarke, that useless husband of yours?” Wynn nodded. It was true that Joy was her best friend and her close friend since junior high. However, Joy’s family was based in Uppercreek, while Joy had just returned from abroad. Hence, they had not seen each other for a long time.
