Why'd he have to look so good? I looked down at the books he had given me. There were five total and I realized that I had never read any of these to Nate. I looked at the first one and turned it over, reading the back. A little boy that encounters a giant in the forest. The little boy uses his quick thinking and courage to escape the giant and return to his family. Being back home, he realizes the love and security of his family are all the support and strength that he needs and that knowing his family is there for him, he can face any fears. It seemed to really fit not only the situation tonight but also the bond that Nate and I had so that was the one that I selected.

The door to the restroom opens and Demi steps out into my bedroom. “So, what’s it like being back here?” She asked me. “It’s really surreal. I mean… I can’t explain it. It all feels different.” I pick up a book from my nightstand. Its title reads “Journey to the Center of the Earth”. I let out a sarcastic laugh. It used to be my favorite book. Seeing as how I believe I have lived there for the last two plus years it makes me want to burn this damn book. I put the book down and turn to look at Demi.

"Not the way Lena said you looked like your mother. The other way. The way that comes from further back." "Like Isara?" Emily said. "Yes," he said. "Come in." Inside was a house that looked like a library that had also grown a kitchen and a bedroom as practical necessities. Books everywhere — not decoratively arranged but actually used, marked, stacked by ongoing interest rather than subject. A room that was the working space of someone who had been reading carefully for a very long time and had not stopped.

As the criticisms from the crowd grew louder, Mom and Dad hurriedly dragged me out of the store. … Back at home, Dad threw me into my room. "You bastard! You did this on purpose to embarrass us, didn't you? Was that your revenge on us? Kneel in your room and reflect!" I kneeled down smoothly, slightly bowing my waist. They didn't know that in the show, kneeling was the most basic thing. It wasn't even considered punishment. I didn't know how much time had passed, but then I heard Jake's voice from outside the door. "Why send him food? He's embarrassed our whole family. Why should he eat? Don't even give him water. He won't starve to death in one night."

I ask before I can stop myself. "Dunno bro. Where's home? Home is nowhere but here " Stan says and beats his chest. "Trace and the unborn child, that's home. " I nod in agreement. I believe Stan. Home is not a house with an address. It is the people we love and care about. Stan has his home with Trace and the baby. The silence in the room is deafening. I wonder if I would ever boast of having a home in the future. For now, I know I do not have one.

At first, I find it weird being comfortable with a new place at an instant, feeling home, but now I know why. It was because home was following me. Home doesn’t refer to a thing with doors and windows. Home is a person or even a ghost. Sadness slowly crept in my system. I just lost that home. Recently, I discovered that I got myself another home, Grip, but I lost them both right after another.
