I never heard someone laugheed like this before. She looked so innocent and pure. Well, she was a budding she-wolf and perhaps still figuring out how the world works.

Beautiful in a way that felt increasingly unusable. Pressure tightened low in my abdomen as I settled fully into the chair. Do you even understand what it’s like to wake up and see your name dragged through the mud for something you had nothing to do with?” His calm, even tone doesn’t waver. “I do understand. But yelling at me isn’t going to make the noise go away. We know the truth. That’s all that should matter.”

Beta Leo stepped forward nervously. “Sir, I think it is time that we came clean and sought help from the council. This is spiralling too fast.”

I pull one out, glance at the first few pages, and then slip it back into its place before continuing. “Hmmm,” I hummed as I squatted to see the books at the bottom. My fingers glide along the books, and my heart stops when I read one of the titles, “How to Reject a Mate and the Consequences that Follow.” Slowly, I pulled the book from its slot and flipped through a few pages.

Billy was clearly in too much of a hurry. He blurted out, "It's a coincidence! Pure coincidence! Here—I'm not gonna take advantage of you for nothing. Take this book and study it. It'll give you a solid foundation in soul-related knowledge." With that, Billy tossed a worn, coverless book onto the table and bolted like a madman, as if the Phaeron Codex might vanish if he did not get there in time. Felix still had his doubts, but his curiosity shifted toward the book. He sat down, opened it, and began reading.

Roller coasters ads basic, it's a fricken pendulum drop, or a drop tower. If you thought book one was a wild ride, buckle up, buttercup, this sequel’s got more twists, turns, and oh so dangerous drama than zee world (wait, please tell me you guys know that TV channel?) Remember last year when life threw me ALL the curveballs? Between fighting off health demons, juggling meds like a circus act, and desperately trying not to drown in exams and ghostwriting gigs (because yes, medical bills don’t pay themselves, and who needs sleep anyway?), this book was quietly simmering on the back burner. It gave me those sad puppy eyes like, “Hey, don’t forget meeeee...”
