I have to try. He pulls away and looks down. I see his eyes darken and a low growl comes from his chest. Leon is not happy either. My scar is long and crosses from the left to the right under my belly button. It crosses to the very top of my right leg. It’s why I never wear bikinis or one piece bathing suits. I don’t wear any bathing suits actually; not since I was a young girl. Aiden runs a finger all the way along the scar before kneeling down in front of me and kisses it. He starts kissing my burn marks. When he stands back up, I’m in tears. “Why are you crying?” He asks.

Too afraid. “You were burning up,” he says. I try to sit. The world tips. His hand steadies my back. “Slowly.” “Raiders?” “Delayed.” His mouth tightens. “Not gone.” I look down. My hand is still on my belly. The vision returns in flashes. The ribs. The Queen. Ashen’s howl. The moon turning white. I lift my shirt enough to see the scar. Kael goes still. The spiral is pale.

He returned to Asher's bedside, his face inches from the detective's. Asher's gaze was drawn to the scar on Kaidën’s perfect face, just below his eye. It was a close call; had it been a fraction closer, it would have touched his eye. He focused on the scar as a distraction from the heat radiating from Kaidën's intense stare. "The scar—" Asher began to say, but Kaidën's lips brushed against his forehead, followed by a soft, "Thank you." With that, he walked away, leaving Asher bewildered.

He was quite grumpy about it and was not going to give in but I was very persistent. He had to take off his shirt for the doctor to check his upper body properly. Then I saw scars all over his upper body, his chest, stomach and his back. All notable scars. I could not get my eyes off them as I wondered what led to the situation where he got the scars. "Kai is a tough breed, he is quite okay." The doctor commented and finally started wrapping up his work with us. Meanwhile, Jordan was in the other room. Kai had him tied down, just till he would be up. We were not going to let the situation known to the doctor so we sent him off on time.

Draco put on his clothes and caught up to Kaze. He removed his clothing without hesitation at Kaze’s command. Only now did he whine to Kaze about it. “Cut the crap.” Kaze gave him a kick. For years, Kaze had been giving his brothers-in-arms the same miracle cream Sky used for his face. Draco’s scars looked terrifying because new injuries were inflicted before the old ones could heal completely. Still, it was only a matter of time before the scars would go away. Draco then received a call.
