“So, Gregory, how are your preparations for the Red Moon ceremony?”
I blinked, looking up at her like she was speaking in riddles. “What the hell are you talking about?” I asked, frowning.
Her expression softened into one of amusement, like she knew something I didn’t.
“Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten that the Red Moon is the day after tomorrow.”
I clenched my jaw, willing my mother to stop. But of course, she kept going.
“You know you can’t survive the Red Moon pool, right?” she said, her voice hard.
