He was already sitting beside her. It was then Nikka infuriated, “Why are you here?! Who permits you to come here?! This is my place!” But like deaf, he seemed didn't hear what Nikka has said. His jade-green eyes were glued on the cover of the book she was reading, then replied in the different subject. “Wow!!! You also read the novel 'I Can See It!' It was one of my favorite mystery book! I'm a huge fan of its author with the pen name 'Crossfinger'. And I've already read all of his books. Wow, I didn't expect you to read this. What volume are you? I'm in the latest volume.” He said merrily, even his eyes were sparkling happily.

I nodded and got straight to work diligently checking through every letter of the lists like my life depended on it—heck, my life actually did depend on it. Hope swelled in my heart as I found her name in almost all the books’ list pages. It meant we weren't at a dead end but just as I started flipping through the mentioned page of the first book, Cassian let out a growl. “Shit, what is this?" He hissed and I quickly moved to his side. “Did you find something?" I asked eagerly. Cassian simply raised the book he was reading to me and I instantly frowned. The page he had opened was burnt off.

And in this crowd, if I can buy enough books in ten minutes without showing off my wolf speed, the better. "Are you really going to read that book?" a familiar voice pops out from the back. I am half-way my turn to say 'excuse me' when I realize that voice is Kaze's. "Ka-Kaze," I almost choke. He is smiling brightly at me. He has a couple of books in his cart, and he looks so damn good in a casual green and blue shirt. I want to be happy seeing him here, but I remember the last days I tried avoiding him. Now, face-to-face with this human with a visual of a gorgeous immortal, I am asking why do I need to avoid him. He didn't do anything bad. He even picked a fight for my lame brother.

Then, he snuggled in with her and kissed the top of her head. “Thank you for letting me share your burden.” He whispered as he stroked her cheek with the back of his fingers. His gaze was so tender that his book reacted to it. It shivered even though it did not have a nervous system like humans. The soft rustle and glow from his study table drew Hikaru’s attention. What was happening to his book? Hikaru frowned deeply and slowly slid out of his bed. His book flipped open by itself just as he reached it.

"You will use the books he listed. Thankfully, I know them all. I will find them for you." Kiran froze. How would Khas find the books when he couldn't see? She bit her lip, wondering how she could bring it up or if it was even a matter worth raising. Khas already saved her life after all. He even navigated the stairs and library on his own. Khas smirked. "You're wondering how I will find the books without my sense of sight?" Kiran guiltily bowed her head. "I'm sorry," she shyly said. Khas chuckled. "It's alright," he casually replied. "I would wonder the same thing too if I were you. I guess Diel hasn't explained what totems are yet, correct?"

I would take some time to sit down and go through everything another day. "Finally." Zavier yelled. I looked over to him moving back and the sound of clicking. I watched as a spot in the wall pushed out what looked to be a secret department. As I made my way over a few Gods had the same idea. Azeki and Sasha rushed over to the book making me pause. I could've swore I was the next high king once I got married. I watched as Sasha just looked at it but what had me also rushing over was when Azeki actually grabbed it. I snatched it out his hands right as he got to the third page.

he smiled a little, stroking my cheek. “You’re crazy, you know that.” I chuckled. “Oh, you have no idea. Because I’m definitely crazy about you, Yūri Aiko Hatake.” He smiled brightly. I raised an eyebrow at that smile. Mainly because there was an odd glint to his eyes I hadn’t seen before. “Hibiki? What are you thinking?” I cautiously asked.

His face looked alarmed and he was half out of his seat but she gave him a small smile shaking her head ever so slightly. He returned to his seat but didn’t look away from them. Iori turned back toward the book never looking up at Tohru and signed it before she handed it to him. “Thank you so much for coming all the way here. I hope you enjoy reading this book,” Iori said never looking up at Tohru and completely ignoring him as Kajima politely told him that his time was up and that the next person in line needed to move. “Just wait and see,” Tohru said, “You’ll find out the truth pretty soon,”

Kailin grabbed the extra plate and helped herself, joining Nirvana on the sofa. I got my dinner while Kailin poured wine into the glasses. “I have a stash of glass in my cabinet.” She went to get a glass for herself. “What are you reading, Nirvana?” “Kailin’s book about werewolves.” She began eating. “It’s funny you missed to mention about mating.” I almost choked on my steak as I met her gaze. Kailin coughed, laughed, and shrugged. “It’s not for me to tell, cuz.”

“Zev’s coming to pick me up. We’re going on a hike. He’ll be here in ten minutes.” Kael nodded slowly, his gaze trailing from her face to the forgotten journal still open on the chair. His voice was calm when he finally spoke. “Didn’t you just start reading that book?” Ashara blinked, then looked back. “Oh… yeah. I’ll get back to it later. This is just a hike.” Kael stood, placing his now empty mug on the side table. He walked over and gently closed the journal. “Alright,” he said after a long silence. “Go ahead. Just be careful.”
