“You sir, may stay here.” Jose nods as I step inside and look around. The key had the number of the box and I find it quite quickly, placing the key in the lock. I fiddle with the code before turning the key, and the box swings open. Something that puts the manager at ease. There are a few boxes of jewellery, some precious jewels in a velvet pouch, as well as a few diamond brooches. I take the contents out, placing them into my bag when I see the pile of photographs at the bottom, placed in a weak envelope that’s torn from one side.

I wonder what the camp’s gonna look like. I was about to reach for my bag when the door opened and Kurt walked in, holding a small box, looking as charming as ever. “You’re done?” He asked as he walked to the table and faced it. “Yeah” I replied. He took the box and turned to face me. “Come on; sit,” he told me and signaled me to sit on the bed and I sat curiously. He opened the box and brought out a silver anklet. Oh my Gosh!

No one ever told me to shrink they just told me to rule. “Are we doing this whole royal tour thing? Should I expect a performance later? Fireworks? A commemorative plaque?” “No fireworks.” “Mm.” “But…” I reached into my coat pocket. She blinked. “What now?” I set the box on the table. Black and slim just sleek enough to make her hesitate. She eyed it like it might bite. “What is it?” “Open it.” She did, slowly, lifting the lid with cautious fingers. Inside, nestled in velvet, was a pale gold phone. Thin. Sharp-edged. Custom logo etched on the back just one letter.

" he remarked. Renee found herself at a loss for words. It was the height of summer; the floor's temperature was the least of her concerns. She bit her lip, a silent protest forming, but the curiosity about the boxes took precedence. She dove into them with a childlike enthusiasm. Unveiling the treasures, she found a gold spoon, a gold money box, an emerald necklace, a laptop, a limited edition umbrella, a fountain pen, a dress, diamond earrings...Each item was accompanied by a card, numbered sequentially from one through twenty. “These are..."" Renee’s voice trailed off as she pieced together the significance, her gaze shifting to Marcelo, a mix of astonishment and realization dawning on he

Awestruck, I move closer to have a better look at the content, willing myself not to touch it. In the black tiny box, lay the most beautiful jewelry I have ever seen in my life. Okay, I have not seen much, but this is captivating. It is a golden strapped necklace with a paw shaped pendant. The pendent is tiny, but has the greenest emerald fluid in it. As if reading my mind, Gerald shakes the box and the fluid dance about in its paw shaped confinement. The beauty of it calls to my soul. Pulling my hand to it. “Wh…who sent this, Gerald?” I catch myself half way to taking the box from his hand.

“Perhaps this moment of crisis is exactly the right time.” I stared at the box, confused. “Igor, what is this? I don’t need a gift. I need a contingency plan.” He gave a slight, wry smile. “This is part of the contingency plan. It’s an anchor. A tether.” He opened the box. Inside, resting on the velvet, was a necklace. It wasn't flashy. It was a fine, heavy platinum chain, and suspended from it was a small, perfectly smooth, cylindrical pendant. It was about an inch long, simple and discreet, crafted from dark, polished titanium—a material that absorbed light rather than reflecting it. It looked expensive, minimalist, and completely anonymous.

The wooden box. I almost forgot about it. I should have told the police about it, but what could I have told them? That I was involved in a money-laundering business that somehow sponsored a terrorist attack? I stared at it. A few minutes passed. Then I held it in my hands. I wasn't wrong before. It was definitely heavier than usual. I opened it. It had small stones, diamonds, emeralds, rubies. They were small, almost like you couldn't easily put them on a ring or earring.

I joked, faking it with a chuckle. She returns my laughter, “That it does. Well, I was here the day your father placed the gift inside, and might I say,” her dainty, manicured fingers shoved a key inside of the lock, popping the lid free, “I think you’ll most definitely be leaving with your gift.” A gasp leaves my lips when I lift the lid, seeing the contents of the box. Two solid gold bars sit on the far-right side of the box, but that’s not what catches my eye. A cream-colored envelope with a maroon wax seal sits against the bottom of the box, and on top of that, is a stunning heart shaped necklace.

"This... kind of suits me." Caraline chuckled, again removing the earring from her ear. She put them into the box. "I'm not someone who can't appreciate someone’s gift. Therefore, I will keep this earring." Caraline walked into a room, past shelves of clothes, bags, shoes, and accessories such as hats, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. All of these things were organized and arranged in a very neat and clean manner.

He opened the safe. Inside, next to the passports and the deed, was a small velvet box. He took it out. He opened it. It wasn't a ring. They already had rings. It was a watch. A vintage mechanical watch. Silver. Analog. With gears you could see through the face. Cale listened to it. Tick. Tick. Tick. It wasn't a countdown. It was just... time. Moving forward. One second at a time. "Linear," Cale whispered. He closed the box. He put it in his pocket.
