He wasn't wearing the tailored charcoal suit or the silk tie he used as corporate armor.

Kyde had barely adjusted his stance, his grip tightening on his dagger, his body hunched with the intent of lunging forward, muscles coiling in preparation to strike first. But before he could even complete the motion— Steel met skin. My dagger rested against his throat. “You are finished, Commander Kyde,” she whispered, her voice unnervingly calm, devoid of strain or urgency, as if she were merely stating something inevitable rather than achieved. Kyde’s breath hitched. His body reacted before his mind could catch up, instinct shattering under the shock. His legs gave way as he stumbled backward, hitting the ground with a dull, stunned thud.

Lam asked curiously. Ace did not say anything but raised Blaze's key which made all his friends gaped in disbelief. Ace handed Lam his bike key which Lam absentmindedly accepted. "I'll go ahead" Ace said after a while of gaping silence and left his speechless and gaping friends. Ace ran to catch up with Blaze who was about to reach his car. Ace took the wheel while Blaze quietly sat at the passenger seat and they drove away in comfortable silence.
