Ezra hadn’t come back either, and the longer he stayed gone, the more people started whispering. It wasn’t just grief. It was fear. They met in the Bone House after the sun dipped low, each of them carrying the weight of what they’d seen. "I can feel it," Nova said first, wrapping her arms tight around herself. "Since the tree. Like... like somethin' inside me knows I stepped somewhere sacred and didn’t bow." Luce looked up from the candle she’d lit. "Same here. Got these dreams now. Hollow places and roots reachin'. Every time I wake up, I swear I can smell dirt."

"Don't dare touch me again or I'll kill you again." The male chuckles and rubs his hair. "I'm just like you... A ghost. So how can you possibly kill me? I came back just the same way you came back cause I can't let you hurt her even though I wish I can cause she's a silly female." Jalen rolls her eyes at him and relaxes but suddenly shudders when his other words dawned on her and all the hairs on her body started rising and goosebumps prickled at her skin. "Y..yo..u..both are ghosts?"

Their skins turning pale, their bodies having sparse flesh atop its skeletal framework and veins turning black making them look more or like zombies. The remaining four had to find a cure for this ailment, "Black Death"; they called it, Kimora was created by them, it came with a price, killing everyone with dark matter and three of the elders died in the process, Kimora was so powerful it did the job but a little too well having a mind of its own the last Elder saw this as a threat had the Kimora gotten rid of and he vanished not to be seen again.

As they stepped into the cool, damp air of the night, the rain had transformed into a light drizzle, misting the surroundings in a haze. The world outside felt lush and alive, yet ominous with an undercurrent of uncertainty. George led the way, Elora and Maya close behind, each step bringing them closer to a sanctuary that felt both like a refuge and a line crossed. "Stay close," George advised, casting a watchful glance over his shoulder. "We don't know who might be watching."

I nodded dumbly. I know something is going on between them but this is something else. “What about Killiad? I thought he sent you to come after me.” He nodded with a grimace. “He did. But all he knew was that I found you.” Dammit, “Gus, I'm scared. Who are they? Wha—” I didn't even hear anyone coming but like there's something sinister lurking in the shadows the tiny hairs on my nape started to prickle as goosebumps erupted on my exposed skin.

“Isabelle!” She spun round at the sound of her name, spoken in such a horrifying way. Her body started to cool immediately and goose bumps appeared on her arm. Not that she was even remotely aware of this. Her body had simply numbed. She was not a superstitious person but she did not think that it had sounded remotely human. She had seen enough horror movies with Gary (or not seen them, as the case may be, with her face driven into the crook of his arm, asking for him to tell her when the bad bit was away) to know that this was not a good scenario.

Goosebumps crawled up my arms. Oh hell no…

Cue the eye roll. But that feeling I have been feeling all day, like someone’s eyeballs are glued to my back is intensifying. “I told you, my Queen. I ALWAYS deliver on my promises.” I hear the sinister voice from before creep up my neck in a whisper. Chills and goosebumps pop up all over my body and not in a good way. I look behind me and Cooper is gone, I don’t see anyone else running, and I know for a fact there is no way in hell they ALL quit at the same time, we are only two miles into this endurance test.

You get the point~ right? Goosebumps cover my entire body. Something seems off and this is the worst feeling I have felt in a long time.
