Speeding up, I drive to the one place in the pack where I can comfortably think and rage out- The Training Grounds. After a few hours of punching the crap out of a ton of sandbags, I get calm enough to figure out a solution. It’s a long shot, but first I need to find Kiara and explain everything to her. Getting to the bar she works at, I see her by the counter, talking with a suspicious-looking man. Suspicious because I know every wolf in the pack, but his face doesn’t ring a bell. “Kaleb,” she waves at me with a bright smile as I walk to her. “Who’s he?”

she just shrugged. “All I’m saying is it’s Friday night … who knows what could happen?” I didn’t like what she was implying. I could practically see her fingers weaving invisible puppet strings, manipulating the situation to her liking, but before I could answer, the door to the bathroom opened and out walked Kara. She looked stunning as the sleek black dress hugged every curve, with a plunging neckline that stopped just above her navel. She twirled playfully, showing off the backless design and the ruched fabric over her perfectly sculpted rear end. “You, my friend, have a death wish,” I whispered to Aurora, who ignored me completely.

Karla’s pov The door opened quietly, and Alaric entered with the healer. She was a woman in her late forties who had kind eyes, but a no-nonsense expression. She wore a white coat that seemed to project an air of authority, but the gentle way she smiled at me undermined it. She walked up to the bed with a clipboard. “How are we feeling today, Karla?” she asked quietly. I glanced at her briefly before my eyes shifted to Alaric, who stood silently by the door. His arms were crossed, but his expression betrayed a hint of worry. “I’m fine,” I muttered.

“Then stop treating me like—” “Not now.” The edge in my voice cut through whatever she was about to say. Good. We didn’t have time for this. The woman stopped a few feet from the gate. Close enough to speak. Far enough to stay safe. Smart. “Alpha Kael,” she said. Not a question. A statement. I didn’t react. “You have the advantage of me,” I replied. “State your name.” She smiled slightly. “Dr. Elara Voss.” Human.

We wake up very late the next morning. Karla is the first to wake up, screaming, shouting and swearing her boss will skin her alive. She has a quick shower, borrows one of my new numerous skirtsuits and heels. She then borrows my blue Ferrari, saying she will return it tonight or tomorrow. She waves us all goodbye before she bolts out of the room. I am left with Riana who is in no rush whatsoever and she's the last to have a shower.

Chapter 8 Kyler Jacobs POV So today was the first day of Nikita Jones being Carla and a CEO of a million-dollar company and the crazy woman is already creating chaos, it is like she is daring people to put a hit out on her. She is already starting fires I cannot put out.

Karen said in disdain. Kisa pursed her lips coldly. She looked at Mrs. Mullen Sr., Karen Reyes, and Carrie as she said, "Mr. Mullen Sr. invited me because I'm the top celebrity in Athadale. I don't need some unknown man to come here. I will gladly let you take a look at my invitation if you don't believe me." Kisa then took out her invitation card from her bag. Everyone stared at her in surprise. They did not think that she was a top celebrity.

“This wasn’t the info passed along he said his suspicions about Annie are correct you should not trust her” As quick as our conversation started it finished Karla left with the note with out another word. Always a pleasant experience with her she really has that mysterious goth vibe to her it’s a little creepy.

Karla decided to skip the sexy outfit tonight and give Mitch the plain Jane Karla. It was punishment for telling her he was taking her out and not asking her like a normal person. She wore jeans and a gray tee-shirt with a faded picture of a wolf on the front. She thought it was fitting considering how their relationship had gone so far. Not that they were in a relationship. They weren't. Not even close to one. She didn't do relationships. Mitch didn't strike her as the type who did them, either.
