Elaine fell backward, scrambling across the floor as the bear swiped where her head had been. Bjorn reared back again, towering over her and letting out an ear-splitting roar. She covered her ears but didn’t have time to move as the bear surged toward her again. Then Liam was there. He intercepted the attack in his wolf form, a far more controlled shift as he slid in front of Elaine. The bear jerked back, eyes wide and wild. Liam took that moment to turn to Elaine and shove his muzzle against her side.

Maybe even like it? Is that even possible? Ana thought. She just felt on edge by it. “Okay. I will.” Ana answered. “Good.” Nicoli smiled and let go. The silver slipped from his hand to land with the rest. “Well, now that we made a promise, back to more bears!” And Nicoli was excitedly pulling back up his book. He rapidly turned pages. “And this one is a Grizzly bear. And that’s a black bear. Oh, this one is really tough, a Polar bear-” Nicoli went on.

Ever since she'd seen the news about the release of Wolf in her New Reviews magazine, she'd had a feeling in her gut this was where she needed to look. Jamie had credited a lot of her information to a book titled Legends of the Werewolf. Lia had read and reread the notes her great-grandmother had handed to her in those last sad moments. Notes that told about generations past that came here from Romania and grew the pack. This had to be the book. Legends of the Werewolf. Surely there couldn't be two books with the exact same title.

Monster: Redwoods Forest Brown Bear Monster Level: 21 Health: 30,000/30,000 Attack: 100 Defense: 100 Skills: Thick Fur, Heavy Palm Strike, Reckless Charge Looking at the three brown bears before him, Kirou adopted a feral smile on his face as he spoke, "Try to keep up, my pet." Following those words, Kirou rushed towards the three brown bears before him with just the pair of knives in his hands. Shadow Arachne instead took to the trees and started spitting and wielding its web, completely sealing off the brown bears' future escape paths, as well as constricting their movements.

Then he was gone, and I had never felt more alone in my life. Paxton jogged up next to me, blinking his grey eyes rapidly. "Darling, my incredible eyes are just a small part of a very big package, massive even." He flashed his charming smile with a wiggle of his brows, but it only lasted a second as he seemed to pick up on my mood. "What's going on, Charlie?" I shook my head, mumbling before diving into the water to cross the river. "There are bears in the forest." "There are also wolves." He said, sounding more relaxed and almost as if he were trying not to laugh at his own joke. We had never had a bounty for a bear before, so we tried to avoid them when we could.

I can hear them whispering in hushed tones, placing bets on how many seconds it’ll take before their new, highly embarrassing Luna ends up on her ass again. It is profoundly humiliating. Kael looks down at me, crossing his arms over his chest, his eyes holding a calculated boredom. “You lasted a whole twelve seconds that time, cousin. I’m starting to think you’re deliberately sandbagging me. I’m deeply impressed by your commitment to mediocrity.” “Bite me, Your Majesty,” I mutter, pushing myself up to a wobbly stand. “I’d rather not,” he says dryly, his mouth curving into the barest hint of a smirk. “I hear your Alpha is incredibly possessive, and I have no interest in sparking another unnec

She was going to be such a strong wolf. Since there were several bears, most of the guys went out all at once. Liam had called dibs on the giant black bear towards the back, and the others had called dibs on a different bear in the group. I was excited to watch them. "Liam's sorry ass probably regrets upsetting you real bad. Watch him tear this bear to shreds," Lila told me as we sat together. I rolled my eyes and watched as Liam stalked down towards his bear. No one had been spotted yet.

“Things were good. Your brother never got a wolf, and I thought the same might happen for you. When you shifted that night on your sixteenth birthday, I was terrified. I didn’t want your father to know. I knew there would be jealousy and that he might kill you. We told him that you didn’t have a wolf and he believed me. But Bear knew. He started taking over Charles, threatening me and trying to get to you. When he smelled your mating on you, he stalked and killed David. He couldn’t handle any other wolves having power. He had to be the most powerful.” “I thought things would be okay when you denied your wolf and began hunting again. But when you broke away and became better than y

“Rowan is more concerned that I might become a werewolf. Apparently, I show signs. The deep-set eyes, for one.” “So, even though he gave you vampire blood, you could still turn into a werewolf?” she asked with dismay. He smiled and nodded but never lifted his focus from the papers. “You’re beginning to get the picture,” he said. “Now, shall we get these research papers back in order? Time’s wasting.” Lila stood up and snapped half of the pile from Jasper’s lap as she grumbled, “This is insane.”

Every shifter there returned with a loud roar or howl. We all started running, with Koda taking the lead. As we ran, I truly enjoyed the wind in my face and the thrill of running through the forest, dodging tree limbs, bounding over fallen logs and tree roots. We stopped by the lake, and I walked over to it to get a drink, then I looked at myself. What kind of bear am I? Just then I heard my bear speak for the first time, “Hello Elisa. I am Adele. I am a rare Blue Bear. Selene felt I would be perfect to be able to handle your magic and the rest of the beings in here.” I smiled, “Well, hello, Adele. It’s nice to meet you. I guess I had never heard of a Blue Bear, but apparently, they are pret
