Kai shot back, crossing his arms tightly over his chest, his biceps flexing under his shirt.
“That’s not role model behavior,” Kingsley said, shaking his head slowly with pretend disappointment, his lips curling into a mock frown. “Kill people with kindness, Kai. Not hammers.”
“Can we kick him out?” Kai turned toward Roan, who stirred a pot in the kitchen, steam rising from the simmering curry. “Please?”
“Unfortunately, it’s too late for that,” Roan muttered without glancing up, his wooden spoon scraping the bottom of the pot rhythmically.
