Mate to the King

Mate to the King

"As a ruler you are given power over life and death." The black stone is warm beneath my bare feet. I can feel the pulsing of the volcano deep in my chest as I climb the steps. "No one else can do it?" He nodded. "Only a ruler can Awaken a dragon. We must use this power carefully, the gods entrust us with the decision to save a dying warrior. If we abuse that power, we will face the consequences." "I understand." My breath rattles in my chest as I stop and turn to face the dragons behind me. "We are going to do this the right way. My uncle destroyed the lives of many warriors and I refuse to do the same," I growl.

Conquering the Duke

Conquering the Duke

It was dangerous. That man was not only a great Duke, Kian of Eylos, but also a great general of the North. His army was counted by hundreds or even thousands and was feared by every country. If not for his loyalty to the crown, he could have easily taken the title of King. “Your Highness?” “Why…?” he mumbled, then he smirked while stepping forward to Lara, “why should I sign this crappy contract with an unknown person?” “I… I am not unknown, my Golden Eagle Company is a well-established company, without any shady business…”

Conquering Max

Conquering Max

I groan, picking back up the paper, hoping to put it out of my mind for the moment. “Darling!” I look up as I hear the shrill voice. Can this day get any worse? I sigh but force a smile on my face. “Ms. Kingsley.” I stand up to shake her hand, but she bypasses the handshake, wraps her arms around me, and kisses my lips. I pull away instantly. This woman is getting bold. Joan is the daughter of Oliver Kingsley, an oil tycoon. We grew up together, and she believes that means we should be together.

In Love with a Human

In Love with a Human

Hordes of creatures of all sizes patrolled the areas, all of them were armed to the tooth, their armor was emblazoned with Dyron’s evil looking crest that looked like a skull splattered in red blood. There were no children or ordinary citizens frolicking, it was a place that felt desolated. There was no laughter, only bloodlust and war cries with the usual sounds of steel clashing against one another as many of these creatures also trained. Indeed, it was a kingdom that was built to conquer. The approaching bowmen had finally reached their location, they all prostrated themselves before the King who was sitting lazily on his throne, grinning at them, containing himself at whatever news they

we answer and he nods. "Anyone else," we ask and one of the youngest-looking male stands up. He seems very green as he glances about the room with nervous eyes. "My King. My name is Alpha Liam Powell. I recently took over for my father. He was on the council. The older... stricter Alpha... Anyway, he was wondering how you expect to keep conflict down. We have families here who have slaughtered one another in the past and taken over the others' pack," he says and we immediately move in front of Karina.

The was a very enjoyable read. The story didn’t drag, didn’t go off in a thousand directions, didn’t try to introduce a million characters to drag the book out (like my 1st book on this app that’s still ongoing). This story makes me want to read all her stories. I highly recommend this book & author

THE WOLF BRIDE’S ESCAPE

THE WOLF BRIDE’S ESCAPE

He had collapsed into the room, shaking with fear and barely able to speak, but we had managed to coax the story out of him. “The Phantom King… he’s alive, my Lord. He’s raising an army in the far reaches of the kingdom. A force unlike any other. They’re… they’re not after territory. They want only destruction.” I could see the fear in the scout’s eyes, and I felt a cold chill grip my own chest. I couldn’t fathom what it would mean to face this kind of foe. The Phantom King, an ancient warlord thought to have perished hundreds of years ago, had a reputation for wiping entire civilizations from the map. The stories whispered in every corner of the kingdom spoke of his merciless tactics—his th

Mates Deception

Mates Deception

I could hear distant howls. I whispered to the night, “You lost this game, Kieran. I took everything from you. And now… I will take more.” I slowly closed the window ans walked to my desk to sit as I got out a new map that only I had. This one showed the lands beyond Donovan’s border. Lands we had never conquered. “If I play this right,” I said to myself, “not only will I rule this kingdom… I will rule all others.” Tomorrow would be a new day. A meeting with Donovan’s people. A chance to expand. A chance to gather more weapons. More men. More knowledge.

His Conquest. His Enemy. His Addiction.

His Conquest. His Enemy. His Addiction.

"I know my boss can be heartless some times, but he would never do that. He doesn't even like me in the first place!" She chuckled slightly and shook her head. "You are the woman who calls him out in business meetings and questions his management capabilities, aren't you? Victoria Nathan? I'm not mistaken, sweetheart. He is my son. He plays this game every time. Ask Cecilia Martins and Taylor Darius. They are his exes, right? Ask them how they came to become his girlfriend in the first place." I couldn't form words as I stared at the screen in resignation, completely tired and drained. Why would Kaius go to such lengths of putting a life in danger just for a relationship quest? It wasn't mak

Blood King

Blood King

He was her great grandfather. Standing up in the middle of the mess, he swepted his hands down his pant legs. Once finished he turned to the King and gave him a bowed. Turning around he bowed his head in respect to the council members in front of him. As he lifted his head, his eyes looked straight at Jezzebelle and they had rage firing in them and it was directed straight at her. Janelle was being watched by two of the royal guards, the Leigonaires. Highly trained skilled warriors with one purpose to dedicate and protect the royal family. But as the King never married, it is just him they are dedicated to. Bryon and Cassius have no problem flexing their muscles in the right direction even i

Mga Madalas Itanong

Diving into the 'Conqueror' movie, you’ll undoubtedly notice the unforgettable characters that drive this contentious plot. First up, there's Genghis Khan, portrayed by the iconic John Wayne, which might initially come off as a bit surprising given that Wayne isn’t Mongolian! His interpretation brings a kind of rugged charm to a character that's both powerful and deeply flawed. It’s fascinating to see how he embodies the leader’s ambition and relentless nature in a story rich with themes of conquest, betrayal, and the quest for power. I often think about how such casting choices can shape the narrative, sometimes overshadowing cultural authenticity.

Then there’s Temudjin, the young Genghis, played by a lesser-known actor who channels the innocent beginnings of our main character's journey. Watching Temudjin's evolution into the fearsome conqueror really draws you into this ancient world. The dynamics between him and both his mother and his enemies create a compelling emotional landscape that really stuck with me. You can feel the weight of expectations on his shoulders, which makes the film engaging on a personal level.

What really makes 'Conqueror' resonate, though, are the supporting characters like Jamukha, who embodies both camaraderie and conflict. This contrast adds depth, showing how personal relationships can be incredibly complex during tumultuous times. All in all, it's a movie that lingers in your mind and sparks discussions about historical storytelling and character depth.
