“What’s wrong? She asked in a half whisper. “Ava.” Kris said the single word with much effort, the rest of his words choking up his throat. Brooke froze up at this, a heartbreaking look in her eyes. “Ava?” She latched onto the word, placing both of her hands on his shoulders to urge him on. “What happened to Ava? Where is she?” She asked, looking around like she expected the sweet omega to pop up out of thin air. “I have no idea.” Kris said in a lost voice, crumbling.

Chapter 23. Kira's POV. The loud crash of a pile of brush snapped me out of my daze. They vithe snapped their heads tonm my direction a look for shock and surprises etched on their features. I was frozen in place not knowing how to react. I felt like I justvintumruded in a moment I was not suppose to. “Kira, what are you doing here?” Crystal asked. I turned around, suddenly feeling embarrassed. I should have found a way to call before coming over.

Number Seven screamed. Kira threw the severed arm aside and grabbed Number Seven by the throat. Just like she'd done to Zara. Just like she was about to do to all of us. "You can't absorb what you can't kill," Kira said calmly. She drove her fist through Number Seven's chest, pulled out the heart, and crushed it. Number Seven collapsed, twitching. Dying. Kira turned to face Numbers Nine and Twelve, not even breathing hard. Black blood dripped from her hands.

Kira screamed until her voice broke entirely and she could only choke out sound. The repellor shattered violently when its power source failed. Energy radiated outward in all directions. I covered Kira with my body while shrapnel blasted through the cell and surrounding corridor. It was in the main chamber that I registered a horrible screech. The artificial goddess was collapsing. Incomplete and dying. The ritual of the old order collapsing catastrophically without the steady feed of power it depended upon. But Kira’s desperate sacrifice had left her irrevocably and intensely altered. Not divine in any way now. Her Luna power greatly diminished. Cut down to just above baseline mortal abilit

Kira couldn’t stand his teasing and chastised him loudly, attracting the attention of passing doctors and nurses. This girl was pretty, but she talked like she’s about to explode. “Yes, the way you talk is important. This way I feel comfortable. So, what is it?” Elvis asked with a smile. Kira's face hardened, her voice deep and profound. “I’m dropping a video tomorrow, and I need you to use your magic so it’s impossible to take down.” “How long do you want it to float around the web?” “Long enough for the message to get around.”

Elias stared at the diagnostics, horrified. “She cracked it. Syra broke the construct.” Lira gritted her teeth. “You mean she killed Kirin?” “No,” Elias said. “She freed her.” Medbay Astra bolted upright, eyes glowing both blue and violet now. Sera was at her side instantly. The girl whispered, “She split it.” Sera frowned. “What?” “Kirin’s no longer a singularity. She’s echoing now. Across all nodes. Every cradle. Every system Mira ever touched.”

She fastened her pace further and she flew before hearing a loud scream… “PRINCESS!!!“ She looked beneath her and she muttered, “Uh?“ And then she screamed and landed on bare muddy ground with a groan. Everyone came to a pause and they gasped at the sight. Aryann ran closer to her in shock and worry evident on her face. “My lady,” Kira groaned on the muddy ground and struggled to get up. “My lady, are you okay?“ Aryann asked. Kira finally stood up, her white cloth completely dirty and half of her face stained with mud. She looked at Aryann and asked, “Where is the lake?“ “What?“ Aryann blurted out.

It can’t be her. “It's about your friend.” “Kira?” I frowned, feeling my heart race. What happened to Kira? I hoped nothing happened to her. As far as I was concerned, Kira was not in the pack. She left. Did something happen to her?? I hoped not. “What happened to Kira?” I asked Malcolm, as I waited impatiently for his reply. What exactly happened to my friend? “They just flew her in two hours ago. She got into an accident.” Wait what? Oh my goodness. My chest began to heave as he said those words. What Accident? That was total bullshit!!

"It was hard without you." "I know," I patted her stomach, urging her to sleep. She could eat when she awakens. After a few minutes, she fell asleep but clung to me. I couldn't leave. “Hendrix, we're in deep shit!” Kira's voice echoed in my head. “What happened?” “The relic broke!”

My teeth tear through his throat, my claws shredding muscle, bone, anything in my way. The second turns toward me— Too slow. I rip him apart. There is no hesitation. No restraint. Just pure, brutal destruction. And still— It isn’t enough. Kira collapses. Her massive form hits the ground hard, blood pooling beneath her, the silver blade still buried in her chest. I shift back before I even realize I’ve done it, stumbling toward her, my hands shaking. “Kira—” My voice breaks. “Kira, stay with me—”
