The betrayal

Kira came out of her car which was opened wide for her, her black boot heels hitting the wet asphalt before standing upright. She looked around the quiet area as she stood beneath the open twilight sky, her hips jutted out in a sexy, seductive pose, looking so high and mighty with her slim, hourglass figure which she was proud of.

It was gloomy. She breathed in as the crisp night air passed by her which she felt due to the light cloth she was wearing. A black crop top, a black leather skirt, and knee-length boots.

There was also the coppery smell of blood which represented the stench of death which she had no problem with. She's lived all her life seeing dead bodies and ending people's lives.

Her gaze snagged at Jason, her most trusted. He was wearing a suit, looking like an agent just like all her other goons, since that's how she prefers it. She gave him a head gesture. "Let's go. I wanna see the perfect job."

Jason gave her a nod, and walked, leading her toward their destination.

They arrived at an alleyway, wet dead bodies piled on top of each other. It seemed the rain fell on them, their blood mixing with the water on the ground.

She tilted her head at the man she really wanted dead, she chuckled and shook her head in disappointment. "If only he did what I wanted. He wouldn't have gotten his family dead. It's all his fault."

"So what are you going to do now, throw him in the ocean?"

Her forehead creased at the very familiar voice and she turned, her gaze meeting her arch-enemy. Her rival. A man who would do anything to bring her down.

She wanted to say something witty but she felt something wrong somewhere. Questions and realization dawned on her.

Why is he here? Is he following her around? And...and why are her bodyguards not standing by her but beside him?

"What's going on here?" The question came out of her mouth.

The man smirked, walking closer to her. "What do you think?"

Her arched eyebrows were knitted in confusion, then she looked at Jason. "Why are you standing there? Come here this instant!" She ordered.

Jason lowered his head. "Apologies, boss. We did what we had to do."

At that statement, Kira's stomach churned, and the feeling of dejection ate her like a plague.

Anger, betrayal, pain....anger...

Her senses were dominated by loads of these emotions. The feeling made her anxious and she never ever wanted to feel that way.

Thankfully, her expression wasn't showing her emotion cause she's schooled her face into a vague expression of nonchalance. She had no care for anything, not even death itself.

But betrayal...it was something she detested.

She gave the man a straight face. "It seems like you won over me. You have me by your palms now."

The man smirked nonchalantly. "Your death is not gonna be an easy one, Kira Blanco. Start saying goodbye to your world and your reign. To everything you hold dearly, hell no one is even gonna miss you."

Kira gave him the exact same expression even though deep down, she was scared. She's just twenty-five after all and no matter how she tells herself she isn't scared, it doesn't mean she wants her death to be gruesome.

Two hands suddenly grabbed her hand, and in retaliation, she swung her elbow backward, hitting the nose of the guy by her left, and punched the other one in the face, feeling the need to fight back even though she was surrounded.

She gave the man in front of her a daring unfazed facial expression, her breath heavy, then she was dragged again, her hands tied behind her with an enigmatic but plastic smirk written on her face in hope to annoy the man glaring at her.

All of a sudden, all she could see was darkness due to the bag used to cover her face, it made her expression drop in confusion. "What are you doing?"

"Don't worry I'll take care of your mess and of you at the same time." The man pronounced and looked at the two men. "Drag her to the boot."

They nodded and pushed her with them, tossing her into the boot of the car, and slamming it shut.

It was a long drive, Kira was curled up in a fetal position as she wondered where she was taken to. Obviously her death.

She couldn't believe Jason would betray her. She trusted him. She trusted his loyalty but they used him to get to her. Used him to control everyone that was meant to keep her safe.

She thought she was smart but Jason was the one capable of ending her life and he did.

She felt the car come to a halt, and her ears pricked as she listened to the slamming of a car door. She swallowed, beginning to feel her heart pounding in her chest.

She could tell the boot opened and she was dragged out, standing to her two feet, and made to walk toward something. "What are you guys going to do to me?! Where am I?!" She lamented, looking around in hope to feel her surrounding.

"Scared now, are we?" The man mocked.

She let out a shaky breath, sill trying to grasp her surrounding.

"Throw her in."

"What?" She blurted out and suddenly, she felt herself being carried, bringing her breath to a pause, then all she could feel was whipping wind followed by her screams, her body swaying back and forth, and the wind blew the cover off from her face.

And in no time, she smashed deep into the ocean. Everything became quiet as she went deeper. And as she got back to herself, she realized that she couldn't swim out due to her tied hands. All she could do was float and struggle, trying hard to release her hands.

After a while, she got weaker, staring upward at the surface, feeling her life dissipating.

She blinked weakly, blinked again…

And all of a sudden, a blinding bright light shone in her eyes causing her to close them shut.

Then she gasped, jerking up of the whatever she was laying on, breathing heavily as she tried to catch her breath while coughing at the same time.

"No. No way. Is this really happening?" A woman in front of her asked.

"Oh, God, she's awake! She's alive!" Someone triumphed out loud.

Kira's eyes landed on the woman in front of her, she was wearing a weird dress. She was very unfamiliar.

She sighed and ignored the woman, looking around at the vast place, noticing her hair was damp and her cloth...silky gown was also damp.

By her right was a lake and her butt was on cemented ground.

She looked up at the vast purple sky, silver stars peering down at her from above.

She arrived in heaven at dusk.

Then her gaze lowered at the word heaven. She was told people who involve themselves in evil do not see heaven. It made her blink, then she saw some ladies and a middle-aged man dressed like they were in the nineteenth century.

It made her wonder where she was cause it was looking like Victorian fashion was the trend in this place.

"Are you alright?" The middle-aged man asked. He looked at a lady. "Check her right now."

The lady was about to hold her hand, but she snatched it away and stood up. "Get your hands off." She said sternly, although it didn't sound stern, her voice was different. It was soft and innocent.

"Are you okay, princess?" The man questioned with worry laced in his expression.

'Princess?' Kira thought in wonder and looked around, beginning to get uncomfortable. They were all giving her worried look.

Isn't she supposed to be dead? Where the hell is she?

She looked at herself, at the fine silky smooth, long gown she was wearing, her eyes meeting her hair that was no longer auburn but black, it gave her a shock knowing she permanently dyed her hair.

"Oh my God, princess!" A young lady ran and gave her a hug with a crying contorted face. "Why did you do that? You got us all worried. We thought you were dead."

Kira kept her hand down at her sides, a frown written on her face. She unclamped the girl's hands and pushed her away, causing her to stagger back in shock and surprise.

"Kara, what was that for?" The lady asked in surprise.

Kira's eyes darted left at everyone looking at her. Most of them were poorly dressed in maid uniforms, and some dressed like guards, it felt like she was in a movie. She could tell who the maids were and....she looked to her right, then to her front at the man, woman, and the lady...who the royals are.

She shook her head, beginning to feel it pounding. "No no." She muttered to herself, taking a step backward. She was beginning to realize some things.

It wasn't her world. It couldn't be.

But then she shook her head. It is her world but not the modern century.

She wasn't a fan of watching movies but she knew this. She was not in her body and not in her modern world...

What the hell does that mean?

They walked toward her as she kept stepping back.

Kira turned and as she was about to make a run for it, a white powder blew at her, causing her to stagger back, her eyes rolling to her head, feeling dizzy, and weak as her body swayed back and forth...

Then she collapsed.
