Bang! My Nimgo crashed straight into the back of a Valterra. A guy with sunglasses and a cigarette in his mouth jumped out, stormed over, and kicked my door. “You broke loser! See the emblem? It’s a Valterra! You’ve got guts crashing your trashy Nimgo into a Valterra!” When I saw the person who got out of the car, my heart sank. Things were exactly as bad as I expected. I wound down the window and stared at him. I was looking for clues from his words and actions.

The lens cracked across its surface, one piece skittering under a nearby chair. "Get away from me," Kira said, her voice shaking, every word deliberate. "My daughter is fighting for her life in there, and you're standing here asking me for a soundbite." The crowd erupted again, cameras swinging toward the broken one on the floor, toward Kira's face streaked with tears, capturing every second of it. Adrian pulled her back sharply, security finally cutting through the crowd to force a barrier between them and the cameras, and within minutes they were ushered into a private hallway, the noise fading behind a set of double doors.

It was almost time for my meeting with Dorian and his father but I would call off the whole treaty if need be to be able to be there for Kiara in her time of need. When I entered her room, she was on her bed. I went to her side and took her hand. "Kiara, are you alright?" She turned to face me, her face was flushed as though she was coming down with a fever. "Peachy. My body hurts." It was rare that lycans caught anything but I wasn't too sure about werewolves who had a slightly inferior nervous system compared to ours. "Where?" Kiara shivered. "Everywhere. I can't even move. I'm sorry. I won't be able to attend the dinner."

Kira said. I could only bow my head and sob silently. "Don't listen to her Kendra. You are more than that." Kris said to me. "No Kris. She is right. I mean... It's all I have been doing my whole life even without knowing it." I said to Kris. "I want you to go to the police right now as me. You will face whatever punishment is given to me in my place." Kira ordered. "And not a word of this to anyone or else you will receive your Mirabella as chunks of meat." Kira threatened me.

The movement startled me and I jerked back instinctively, my elbow knocking into Kira. Her phone and a glass of water hit the floor with a sharp crash. “Shit… I’m so sorry,” I said immediately, crouching to pick it up. Her phone's screen was cracked, spiderweb lines spreading across it. The file she was also previously holding was now soaked wet with the water that poured on it. Oh, what have I done? “I didn’t mean to,” I added awkwardly. “I’ll replace it.” Kira hesitated, glancing at Damian before answering. “It’s a pack-issued phone, Luna. It’s old, so repairing it should be fine.” She said and I nodded.

I just wish I could really kill him and end his miserable life right now. Kira's words cut through the tension like a sharp knife, her voice trembling with anger and pain. "You're all pieces of sorry shits!" she exclaimed, her eyes blazing with fury. "No matter what your plans are, trust me, you won't get away with any of this, bloody scumbags, idiots!!"

Mira kicked Kira hard, her foot smashing into Kira's abdomen, making Kira crumple to the ground, clutching her stomach in agony. "Ahh...!" Kira screamed, her whole body convulsing in pain. I watched in horror as Kira screamed. I shot my gaze towards Odessa and she was oddly relaxed, her face held no emotion as she stared at the scene in front of her while Raymond and Asher continued sipping their wine. That was it. I couldn't sit still anymore. 'Stop that mad woman!" Kai shouted, making me stride forward to stop the madness. I had had enough of this madness.

Yet, the tears weren’t flowing completely anymore. “Kira!?” he pushed past me, my hands curling into fists. “Are you, are you okay?” he asked as he came to sit beside her on the bed. It only took a second for my friend’s face to morph into complete anger and before I could even blink, Kira – a girl who helped flies leave places instead of just killing them – punched Chris straight in the gut. The guy buckled over, clutching his stomach and letting out a gasp.

Just four letters, etched by hand into the soft resin floor near the center: kira. Nothing else. And somehow, it said everything. Later that evening, Eden and Lucan entered the room. Neither spoke. Lucan placed one item on the floor: a single pulse slate from the old Merge records blank, but once locked. He let it rest beside the carved name. Then whispered: “They archived her.” “But we remembered her louder.” No one filmed the room. No one logged entries. But that night, the Archive added a silent tag to the resonance sanctuary directory:

I just stared back at them all with a blank, unreadable expression even though deep inside, I was falling apart. “KIRAAAAA!!!” Madam Kim’s sharp, blood-curdling scream cut through the air like a blade, yanking me back into reality. I turned slowly... only to see her storming toward me like a woman possessed eyes bloodshot red, lips trembling with venom, her entire body vibrating with pure rage. “Kira, how could you?! You little b**ch! I trusted you!!!” she screamed, now right in front of me, her finger nearly stabbing into my chest. She was shaking, furious beyond words, and glaring at me like I was filth.
