Heart's Desire
When I woke, the sun had dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple.
"You're finally awake. You haven't eaten yet, they've been looking for you outside, I saved you some food. Go eat," Clara said, her voice a soothing balm against the storm within me. She was fresh from a shower, her hair still damp, her face radiating a calm that I desperately craved.
"Come outside, there's a bonfire party, the villagers are going to dance," she added, her smile a beacon of normalcy in the chaos of my world.
