Klaus Mikaelson Smile Novels & Stories

Klaus's face showed a strange expression in my eyes, like a smile, yet also with ill intent. "Emilia, you've seen those scenes in my conscious, haven't you?" My face was once again lifted. I frowned unhappily, but my attention was diverted by the water droplet sliding down Klaus's forehead. "Yeah," I replied. I watched the transparent liquid pass over his prominent nose, hanging on the tip for a moment before falling onto his chest, blending into the water. Subconsciously, like losing my mind, I stuck out my tongue and licked Klaus's lips because it looked so thirsty.

The sides of my mouth twitched when he gave the most awkward smile amidst the tension. “I am sorry Alva.” I heard him say. “What?” I hesitated, unsure if I heard him right. Nikolas Sica would not have apologized to me… It did not sound right. His abrasive fingers left the steering wheel for a moment and wiped away an escaping tear. I swallowed as his touch made goose-pimples suddenly sprout out of my skin. “I said I am sorry, Alva and I assure you that the Nikolas Sica in front of you is that selfish little boy who thought he was too cool for everyone. I want you to trust me Alva. For our son’s sake.”

He replayed the last few minutes—the walk, the flashes, the jolting serenity on Clarkson's face. Clarkson's eyes fluttered open and he turned his head. The interior's muted light highlighted his eyes, stormy grey-blue now the colour of a shining, boundless sky. He looked at Jonah and a slow, unhurried, spontaneous smile crept over his face. Jonah had never known Clarkson to smile like that, except stammeringly, in the fits and starts of their most intimate moments back in Maine. It was unforced. It was natural. “You’re smiling,” Jonah whispered, his voice hoarse.

I really wanted to hear Mikael's voice, so I reached out for my phone and grabbed it. As soon as I picked it up, Mikael's video call came through. With a smile on my face, I picked the call. My smile widened when I finally saw him. He was wearing a dark green long-sleeved shirt and strands of his hair fell over his left eye. He looked really tired, but I assumed that it was because of work. The color of his eyes was hidden by his grey eye contacts. He grinned when his gaze met mine. "Hey, you" he said, gazing at me fondly.

Then I run back to check the preview on the small LCD screen. Mike blinked; of course he wasn't ready, his eyes caught in a half-flutter that makes him look drunk or asleep. Josh is mid-squirm, one arm blurred with motion as if he's trying to escape the frame entirely. Damon's smile is the awkward one he always produces when he knows he's being photographed, stiff, controlled, the smile of a businessman closing a deal, nothing like the real smile I see when he doesn't know anyone's watching. And I'm slightly out of focus because I didn't quite make it to my mark in time, my hair creating a halo of frizz.

Cael didn't grab it immediately; he looked at her nail, then up at her face, making a small, clicks-and-hums sound in the back of his throat that sounded like a diagnostic report. Lyra, meanwhile, had started smiling. These weren't the involuntary, gas-induced grimaces of the first month; they were real, deliberate responses to the voices she recognized. She smiled at Marcus first—a wide, gummy expression that made the old doctor immediately turn around and pretend he was looking for his stethoscope, though Evelyn saw his hand brush his eyes. She smiled at Kai second, which caused the massive former soldier to freeze mid-stride, look sideways at the concrete wall for five seconds as if asses

A full, gummy, unambiguous smile, triggered by Damian making a sound that had no English equivalent, and once it happened Lucas was so pleased with it that he did it several more times. Noah, not to be outdone, produced a smaller version — more restrained, more considered, as though he had evaluated the smile and decided it had merit and would deploy it selectively. He deployed it for Damian too. Damian's face did the thing it always did when the boys surprised him — that unguarded, unmanaged openness that he never showed anywhere else. Rosa, who had been bringing tea and was not, professionally, supposed to be taking photographs, took a photograph. She sent it to Marcus.

Then he returned to his seat. I was tempted to ask about Amelia and Marcel's case, but he looked so happy right now, I didn't want to break the magic. He got busy again, and I just sat there, looking at him, watching him, memorizing and admiring every feature of his face. It was until I felt a small ache on my cheeks that I realized that I had been smiling all the while. "Valerie, I can smell your arousal." Klaus spoke after a while, breaking the silence between us.

" You should take it... based on your reaction today I never thought I'd compliment you on your style of parenting, it turns out you're a pretty caring dad." Ana responded while giggling, causing Marcelo to stop his actions and watch her. " Have I ever told you that your smile is beautiful?" " I'm pretty sure all I ever heard from you was that I should stop smiling at your friends, must have been because you were afraid I'd scare them off with my smile." She replied as she laughed out, trying to make the conversation light. "That's not true_although you're right about one thing." " You mean the part where I scare them off with my smile?"

M-I-N-E. So back off! "Before tomorrow night?" I asked him also smiling. "Yeah, before tomorrow night." He confirmed making me smile wider. Mason was the only one that had this effect on me. He could make me smile within minutes and cry immediately after. "Okay." I moved towards him to pick him on his cheek when he turned his face and my kiss landed on his lips instead. That was when I caught it! The ever-cold yet handsome Mason Israel Maxson, blushed. Mason was blushing! Then he smiled at me, his dimple showing, and he wasn't even trying to hide it this time. I stood up smiling and walked out of the living room happily when he held my hand and pecked me lightly on the lips.
