I took a deep breath to control my raging temper. Then, I went back to Mikael's bedroom. He was curled up on his side, on the bed. My eyes widened in alarm when I saw that he was shivering so hard. I got into bed and wrapped my arms around him after placing an extra blanket around us. I pressed a kiss to his jaw and rested my head against his hard chest. "Do you think she can help us for real?" I asked and he let out a shaky breath. "I don't know, Athena. I really don't know. She said she has a book which describes the realm of smoke and bones. But, I don't know what to believe" Mikael croaked. I genty patted his back and let out an exhale.

I groaned and tried to forcefully yank my hands away, but that only made things more awkward. "Leave me, you bloody mo—" "Monster!" he completed my words in a calm drawl, which caused my body to shiver with fear. I was already close; too close to him, and even with my fragile anger, he looked unfazed. I badly want to gouge his eyes out, yet my skin prickled against my body. His scent engulfed me in ways I want to hate. Mikael smiled. A smile filled with so much ill intent, and I tried my best to figure out what was in his head; however, he is like a book that doesn't want to be read unless he says otherwise.

My feet stumbled upon a stone, making me fall on the ground. Michael had a smile that was too wide to be normal. “This time, I’ll make sure you’re dead,” he said, his voice cold and devoid of emotions. Then, he raised his axe, aiming it for my chest. I screamed, jolting from my sleep.. A hand gripped my arm, drawing me closer. It was Klaus. He pulled me gently closer to his chest, wrapping his arms around my trembling shoulders. “Klaus, I saw them. They…they tried to kill me.”

I was Kane Rivers, the legendary bachelor, the man who ruled with precision, who carried every responsibility without complaint. At first, I didn’t notice him. The ritual drew my attention: Mike’s posture, the priests’ chants, the rising tension of the pack, the fire snapping against the night. My wolf twitched beneath my skin.Then, through the corner of my vision, I caught movement. Just a human boy, leaning against the edge of the clearing, too casual. Shawn Miles. My nephew’s human best friend.

Mikaelson? I hated his face. Couldn't even stand seeing him. But I wouldn't give Mikaelson the pleasure of seeing how he affected me so I tried to keep a calm composure, casually glancing at the envelope and Mikaelson’s face. “Adultery?” That horrible smile remained on his face. “Yes, my client would love to sue for adultery?”

He glanced at Katherine, eyes gleaming with something teasing, something knowing—as if he sensed the tension and was more than willing to fan the flames. Castiel’s gaze shifted to Zayn, his expression barely flickering. “Hogan,” he acknowledged, voice clipped but still polite. Zayn grinned, ever composed, ever infuriatingly unreadable. “Mikaelson,” he returned, with just enough smooth confidence to remind Castiel that he was not someone easily dismissed.The air thickened between them, layered with unsaid words nd quiet battle lines. And judging by the way Castiel looked at her now, he new it too.

[Mykel’s POV] I stared into the eyes of the woman that I was meant to kill and found myself being sucked into their crimson depths as she licked her lips seductively. What the hell was this exactly? This feeling of wanting to fully possess her and make her scream my name while I… "Are you just going to stare?" She purred, pushing her voluptuous breasts against me. "Or are you going to keep to your promise?" A growl of excitement escaped me as Axel came to life and demanded to take over.

Eden’s POV The mall lights blurred in my vision as Claire chattered beside me, her hands full of bags, her voice spilling excitement over which outfits she would wear first. I nodded when she looked at me, murmured back the right words, but none of it sank in. My pulse was still racing from the kiss that had seared my lips, from the way Kael’s body had pressed into mine, from the dark promise in his voice. I could still feel him.

But the cavity has devoured too far and too much of me. I let myself be consoled by Mikael. My head is on his sculpted bicep, and his hands are in my hair. Once again, I'm reminded he's a figment of my imagination because when I inhale his scent, I get nothing. He doesn't smell like my Mikael. I don't get his mix of pine and musk, and it makes me want to break down in more tears. His voice is low like he's about to share a secret. "You're the one who'll leave in the end."
