"You look stronger. The sickness has started?" I looked at him in shock, my hand unknowingly reaching over to cover my belly. “You knew? You knew that this would happen?” A thin smile spread on his face. It wasn't evil, just full of a wild certainty. "It was always a possibility. A very welcome one." “Who are you?” I managed to say, voicing out the words from my mouth loud, my voice shaking with anger and fear. “My name is Kael. I am the Alpha of the Shadow Moon Pack,” he said.

Lorenzo said. Mikael nodded, bringing his glass of martini to his lips. "I know, right?" "That bitch is really crazy, though. I get that she was a half demon, but did she have to summon hellhounds? Wasn't that too extreme?" Mikael shrugged. "She's bat shit crazy. So, it's... understandable?" He said and I snorted, rising to my feet. I poured myself a glass of martini and returned to my seat in the sitting room of Mikael's home.

Blood dropped out of his eyes and nose…and from his ears and mouth too, and from behind me, I could hear Emily screaming but I paid no attention to her. I let the thing with Michael go on for another few minutes, listening to the popping sounds of his bones and how his skin made squelching noises, and when I realized that he was on the brink of death, I let it stop, smiling when he spasmed from fear. He even peed on himself. “Now, do you know Alpha Damon?” I asked again, noticing that this time, he couldn’t even look at me. He nodded his head, a little too vehemently like a kid as he rushed out; “Yes! I know him, we had planned to take out King Klaus together!”

"I need you to distract Darius tonight so I can ask him." I watch through the crack in the toilet door as Selena Wilkins fluffs her horrible hair and makes her stupid lips look gross and sticky with her lip gloss. What sort of thirteen year old needs lip gloss? And high heels, they're totally impractical for anything, we live on the Moors for Goddess' sake! Not that I'm being petty or anything because for the last few minutes she's been talking about how hot Coal is and how she is going to make him her boyfriend.

That only meant he caught everything that was going on. "The guy that escaped. His name is Damien." My voice sounded hoarse, and I pressed myself closer to Killian. "And who is..that?" Maria's mate gestured to Blake, hesitating when he saw what his Alpha had done. "That's Blake. Their hunters." My voice sounded small, and I felt myself relax as Killian's hand traced circles on my lower back. "Why did they target you, Luna?" Gabriel scowled. "Because I got away." I whispered, looking up at Killian.

The two bloodsuckers Mikali was holding at gunpoint in a dark cavern looked exactly like what Jo had been imagining when she’d picked out two potential snitches in her mind. Both of them were groveling on the ground, sweat pouring from their undead foreheads as they pleaded with the Guardian to let them go. Mikali was glaring at them, standing at his full height, which had to be at least six three since he towered over Jo, alternating the target at the end of his Beretta from one sniveling bastard to the other.

Torches flickering weakly against stone walls. And in the center— A figure. Kneeling. Bound. Head lowered. Blood on the floor. Marcus stood nearby. Still. Silent. Watching. Kael stopped. Slowly. Dangerously. “Look at me,” he said. The figure didn’t move. Didn’t respond. The air tightened. Something felt off. Very off. “Kael…” I whispered. He stepped closer. One step. Then another. The bond pulsed. Sharp. Warning. “Look. At. Me.”

CAMILLA I tied my hair as I made my way downstairs. Nikolai had already left for work while Miko and Mika were having a summer vacation. Miko just turned 25 last month, and my Mikaela will turn 18 next week. I'm thankful that she's not a spoiled brat and just wants to have a simple birthday with her family and friends. Miko took a medical degree and will graduate next year. As usual, he never neglects his studies even though he sometimes hangs out with friends. I must say, he somewhat acts like his father, Nikolai.

Evelyn's POV "I, Alpha Kyle Turner, reject you, Evelyn Sanders, as my mate." Alpha Kyle hoarse voice boomed in my ears making me freeze on my tracks, his voice laced with disgust. Crack! A cracking sound resounded inside my body and I felt as if a part of me was forcefully torn and taken away. My wolf howled in pain but there was nothing I could do about it. Tears flowed down my face as the pain became immeasurable, increasing with each second to the point I was unable to tolerate it. I could care less about the gazes on me. I was already used to it.
