My breath came shallow and sharp, each inhale scraping. “Easy.” Kaden’s voice. Right there. Close. His hand was already on my back, solid and grounding, fingers splayed like he was anchoring me to the present by force. “You do not get points for bravery,” he added quietly. “I was not trying to be brave,” I muttered. “I was trying not to drown in my own ribs.” Kael snorted from somewhere nearby. “That checks out.” I forced my breathing to slow. In. Out. The hum settled with it, coiling tighter, denser. Waiting.

I tried to take deep breaths over and over again, many times, but I couldn't get any air. My heart rate is increasing. I can not breathe! "Yena?" Kudo said and I heard him move restlessly around the room. “Enough here, Agent Kudo. I'll talk to your superiors." David reached over and tried to help me up. I don't like his hands touching me. I can not breathe! He is suffocating me. I need to think. I need to breathe. "Shut up! All shut up!” Kudo and David were speechless, I ignored them as I placed my hands on the table in front of me and tried to catch my breath.

She asked softly. “Not really in the state of mind to be remembering that Koa. All I can think about is the FUCKIN VAMPIRES!” I shouted that last part and slammed my fist into the floor, causing the floor to actually crack. I probably would’ve been more impressed with myself if I wasn’t freaking the fuck out right now. “First we need to get your breathing under control. Slow deep breath in the nose for 5 seconds and slowly out the mouth for 5 seconds.” Koa said softly.

My lungs screamed for air as the water harshly lodged itself in my throat and nostrils. Serena continuously shoved my head deep down into the tub of water. "This is only a fair warning, pretty Akira." My hands desperately clawed at the edge of the tub, but the more I struggled, the harder she shoved. My eyes burned and I could slowly feel myself beginning to get light-headed as the struggle to breathe - and live- decreased. "What the fuck is going on here?" I heard a familiar voice demanding above water before I felt the grip on my hair gradually lessen.

They stood on the muddy bottom of the deep moat. -Breathe.- the alien said again. -I would not save you just to let you drown to death.- -I will die.- Ike's lungs hurt. It was faint and weak, but it was there. Serena coughed violently and drew in another ragged breath. The coughing took over, as if she had almost drowned and was now trying to free her lungs of the water. Her eyes flew open as she grabbed her throat with both hands. I stroked her hair with the hand I had pressed against her chest. “It’s okay, Serena, it’s okay. Deep breaths. Slowly,” I urged. I mimed breathing in deeply and then exhaling, trying to get her to match my pattern. As she did, the coughing slowed, and she caught her breath, bit by bit, as she stared into my eyes.

Alfi said giggling. “Well, at any rate, we have to defeat them all first!” Koji exclaimed. “Roger!” Alfi replied expanding his Iru arm. The shortest one and the tallest one fight hand-to-hand. The tallest one puts his palm to the shortest’s back and suddenly the yellow Iru of the tallest shines the shortest mouth. “Teknik Gabungan: Nafas Kematian! (Combo Technique: Death Breath!)” They exclaimed. The shortest one blows his look-like-wolf-breath to them. Resulting in them turn into bones.

I close my eyes as I breathe her in, filling my lungs with her heavenly scent. I’m about to pull away when I feel her small hands on my chest, and I freeze with my lips still against her forehead. She hesitantly runs her hands up my chest to connect behind my neck, and my lungs start to burn as I realize that I had been holding my breath.

After feeding on each other's mouth hungrily, they both pulled back only when the need of air emerged between them. Kaya closed her eyes and breathed heavily, in order to calm down her abrupt breathing. He glanced at her flushed cheeks and panting self which made him join their foreheads. His breathing was also hard.
