I swiped a paw over his face, my claws digging into his flesh and creating a large gash over his eye. He staggered to his feet and tried to pounce on me in return. I shifted my weight and pushed him to the side, making him lose his balance and fall over. I took the opportunity to bite down on his hind leg and he howled in pain. He twisted his body and clamped his jaws around my tail. It hurt, but I wasn’t badly injured. Viper, on the other hand, was bleeding heavily from his leg.
