Curtis had never forced a woman to do anything for him, and he sure as hell wasn’t about to start with Tessa. He stared down at her, examining her face for the truth. She stared right back at him, so open and unafraid, and all he saw was hunger. A hunger to live, to love. To just jump into those things with both feet – no holding back or denying her needs. Eventually, she will be able to eat more, but it will take time. Just as it will take time for our little ghost to learn that she is safe, and no one will take anything from her again.”
