The Witness became silent. The older Liana whispered, "That's new." Liana looked into the mirror. Her reflection looked back. Then it smiled. But Liana wasn't smiling. Her reflection whispered words she couldn't hear. Liana stepped closer. The reflection placed its hand against the inside of the mirror. Liana slowly raised her own hand. Their palms touched through the glass. Then the reflection spoke. This time, Liana heard it. "I'm the choice you haven't made yet." The mirror shattered. And somewhere beyond reality... The Witness screamed.

She stepped closer, drawn to it. As she looked into the mirror, she saw her own reflection, but it was different. The woman staring back at her was not the same as the one she had seen in her room. There was something in her eyes—something wild, something that belonged to another time, another life. Her breath caught in her throat as she reached out, her fingers brushing the surface of the glass.
