The cave was narrow at first, then widened into a large chamber with a ceiling of stalactites. In the center of the room stood a large mirror with an old silver frame, perched atop a stone pedestal. The moment we walked in, I saw Gabriel and Lindsey. Lindsey was holding his arm and greeting people with a bright smile, while Gabriel stood with a polite smile. However, his eyes were empty until he saw me. For a split second, his eyes lit up before they dimmed again. Noticing something, Lindsey looked up at him. He whispered something, and she nodded with a smile, but the smile was clearly stiff. I turned my gaze away and walked with Felix toward the other side of the room. We brushed past him, and I didn’t look back. However, I could feel his eyes following me.
