Bitter Marriage: The Missing Gleam in Their Eyes

Bitter Marriage: The Missing Gleam in Their Eyes

She sat down and ordered as usual, then waited while taking out the book she always carried with her: a translation of an English literary novel, entitled Jane Eyre. It's the same day today. It's raining so hard outside, the clouds make the sky black, so the atmosphere this afternoon looks like night. Accompanied by that, Diana waited, waiting for the man who looked like Brandon. That's a long time. Diana waited almost an hour, but the man never came. Maybe he won't come again, Diana sighed. Maybe yesterday was just a hallucination. The hallucinations that appear when it rains… because she misses Brandon too much.

The Lady And The Billionaire Scoundrel

The Lady And The Billionaire Scoundrel

Charlotte opened her eyes to a dim room with sunlight filtering in through the curtains. She was laying sideways, facing black modern closets that she recognized as those in Logan's apartment. Even before she saw who it was, she felt someone was there in the room with her. She turned around brusquely and saw that a thin, beautiful woman with a blonde bob cut was looking at her. The woman was sitting on a chair near the window holding an open book in her hand. "Oh, you're up! I didn't mean to scare you," she said, setting the book down on the floor and standing up. "I'm Nina, Logan's friend. Let me go get him." She left the bedroom and softly closed the door behind her.

Ack, this is indeed a hidden gem. The narration is so good and the events that happened were so fast that I did not hesitate to scroll to the next chapter. Three men around Charlotte having different stories are more than interesting. Plus, it's of great mystery of whom she will end up with. Awesome

This is one of the few novels I have read that does not have the main character being slapped in the face for no reason, and everyone ending up going to the hospital for frivolous reasons. I'm enjoying this so far and really like Charlotte and Logan's chances.

The Alpha's Rejected Mate

The Alpha's Rejected Mate

The door swung open, and a lady-in-waiting entered the room, her presence an unwelcome interruption. I furrowed my brow, my tone laced with irritation. "What are you doing here?" I demanded, my voice tinged with authority. The lady-in-waiting, seemingly unperturbed by my question, approached with a serene smile gracing her features. She carried a tray adorned with two steaming cups of coffee, an air of familiarity lingering around her movements. "I have come to serve the Queen's coffee, Your Highness," she replied innocently, her voice as smooth as silk.

LOVING HER DUKE

LOVING HER DUKE

"What is this?" "Do you prove yourself ignorant still of my accusations?" "An accusation you call it." She flared, her cheeks turned pink and a wrinkle formed on her forehead. "Do you suppose I would believe that you had no knowledge of this?" She waved a letter in the air. "That you have no knowledge of the King setting out to make my sister his lady in waiting?" Charles stiffened, unpleasantly surprised. He did not know what to think or how to reply. Lady in waiting? What had Alexander done? Was he making the young Lady Fitzgerald a lady in waiting when there was no queen yet?

Two-time Mated Alpha

Two-time Mated Alpha

Certainly, he was not the type to endure a long day of studies like I did. “Can I retire now? I can feel the comfort of my bed calling to me,” I muttered with a yawn as I averted my gaze to Phyllis. She remained seated across me, watching keenly to make sure I never missed any word in the book. I guess that was how unoccupied she was. The witch nodded and reached for the book, her eyes squinting the moment they met with the sepia yellow pages. She gestured for me to stand but before I could obey, the Library door opened and a balmy-looking Lady walked in. She was a servant, I could tell, judging from the pattern of her dress, as well as the gentle, elegant gathering of her ebony hair.

The Wait

Abigail Langdon was a strong woman. She owned properties in London and managed them all on her own. She was married young to a supposedly honest gentleman, only to find out later that he was a well-known name in the city’s underground business. About a decade into the marriage, her husband was killed in a police encounter and all his so-called legal properties were transferred to her. However, Abigail was closing in on 35 when she had to take the reins and ended up becoming the landlady of couple of apartment buildings in London. She had many proposals by men but she was no longer interested in dating or men in general. However, she wanted a child and so when she had somewhat settled, she ad

A Love That Waited

A Love That Waited

“They’re doing everything they can.” Lily swayed. Aaron’s arm came around her waist instantly, firm and unyielding, holding her upright as the world tilted dangerously. “Can we see her?” Lily asked desperately. “I’m afraid not right now,” the nurse said. “You’ll need to wait here. A doctor will update you as soon as the surgery is complete.” Wait. The word felt cruel. They were directed to the waiting area, a wide room lined with identical plastic chairs that offered no comfort and no privacy. Lily sat stiffly, hands clenched in her lap, eyes locked on the double doors at the far end of the corridor.

Sydney Marin series

Bye. I finished reading it with regret. She wrote it today for me but I left home within even seeing it. She might have kept it in my room while I was watching some romance movies in the hall. I don't know about other witches, but Iam so much interest in romance. My unlucky, I never ever saw or talking with a boy in real. It's all because of the stupid protection Lydia's trying to do which I don't need at all. I love her caring for me and hate the way she's trying to hide the whole world from me. I slowly opened the book to view some images in it. I flipped the pages and ended up seeing a royal lady in a blue gown with a tiara and scepter. She looked so stunning, beautiful. I don't know what

The King’s Relentless Desire

The King’s Relentless Desire

I chose no jewels — just the thin band at my throat, a quiet defiance of the gold he’d once given me. By the time I stepped into the corridor, the castle had fully awakened. Servants bowed. Courtiers murmured behind their hands. The echo of my footsteps followed me down the marble hall, steady and unhurried. I passed a pair of noblewomen near the arches. Their conversation fell silent as I approached. One of them curtsied too deeply, her mouth tight with the effort not to smirk. “Lady Liana,” she said sweetly. “The king waits.” Her tone lingered like a blade.
