She sat down and ordered as usual, then waited while taking out the book she always carried with her: a translation of an English literary novel, entitled Jane Eyre. It's the same day today. It's raining so hard outside, the clouds make the sky black, so the atmosphere this afternoon looks like night. Accompanied by that, Diana waited, waiting for the man who looked like Brandon. The woman was sitting on a chair near the window holding an open book in her hand. "Oh, you're up! I didn't mean to scare you," she said, setting the book down on the floor and standing up. "I'm Nina, Logan's friend. Let me go get him." She left the bedroom and softly closed the door behind her.

The door swung open, and a lady-in-waiting entered the room, her presence an unwelcome interruption. I furrowed my brow, my tone laced with irritation. "What are you doing here?" I demanded, my voice tinged with authority. The lady-in-waiting, seemingly unperturbed by my question, approached with a serene smile gracing her features. She carried a tray adorned with two steaming cups of coffee, an air of familiarity lingering around her movements. "I have come to serve the Queen's coffee, Your Highness," she replied innocently, her voice as smooth as silk.

Charles stiffened, unpleasantly surprised. He did not know what to think or how to reply. Lady in waiting? What had Alexander done? Was he making the young Lady Fitzgerald a lady in waiting when there was no queen yet?
