Kayla accompanies me to my locker and I to hers before we head to our class. Every class goes by without me paying any attention just thinking about going to the beach after school. I am very excited, I just have to pay attention so I don't imagine swimming at the bottom of the ocean as a mermaid and I'll turn back to mermaid in front of everyone without meaning to. I also have to remember that as a human I don't have my gills so I can't breathe under water, but I'm sure I'll be fine.

"I'm okay, but never mind that! Don't attack the mermaid!" Tirana was about to ask why but then the mermaid screeched again, this time longer and reverberating throughout everywhere. Lars was ready with his sword of light and the mermaid took him up for the battle. The entire place was quaking and blood poured again from the fountain in a raging stream.

She was just staring at the necklace and the witch was watching her just as intently. I walked over to Savannah and I placed my hand on her arm. Even the sparks that I felt didn’t cause Savannah to look at me. “What is it?” I asked. “I want that.” She said plainly, pointing at an orange opal pendant with a brass chain. “Alright. You can get whatever you want.” I said, reaching forward and grabbing the necklace off of the shelf. She took it off me immediately and it looked like she was drawn to that pendant for some reason. Something more than just liking what it looked like. Something supernatural was calling to her and she wasn’t denying it.

Instead it’s the ugliest little monkey, covered in fur, with sharp little teeth, beady eyes, and curled, clawed fingers. Anton and I both stare at the mermaid for a long, long moment before we burst into laughter. “See!?” Laila says, laughing just as hard as we were. “Mermaids in my world are like – pests! They’re horrible! They’re called ‘maids’ ironically because they’re the opposite – they’re the worst – they tear apart our nets and steal our fish! And then climb into the trees and eat the fish and drop the skin and scales on people walking beneath!”

"I'm Dr. Emma Rockford and it's a pleasure to meet you. Are you a mermaid or ocean nymph? The female batted her large eyes and sighed. "I'm part of a tribe of merpeople and closely related to ocean nymphs but can occupy freshwater sources as well as salt, I am called Layla," she said softly and I nodded. I glanced over at the other cell and felt the heat. A large dark muscular beast was pacing the perimeter of the enclosure. It's two bulky heads huffing angrily.

She said, "Okay. I will leave them alone." Damien and I got in the Hummer with Ely and Eivin and we left for the airport. Once we were in the air, I asked Damien why they want us there. I didn't think we could offer much help. He said, "They know you are good at uniting species. They want to ally with the mermaids." I said, "Sweet! We could do the same!" He said, "The Queen of the Mermaids lives in one of the lakes in Nebraska." I said, "Really? I would've thought she lived in the ocean or the sea?" He said, "Nope. This lake is her childhood home, so this is where she feels most comfortable." I said, "That is so cool."

The dragons began to descend, and she realized they were going to land on the beach. She looked around as they flew down and realized a little further down the beach was a cave. It was huge and she realized the meeting would probably be there. She remembered Layla’s father would be here today so that’s why they must have come to the ocean. He was a merman and he needed water. Although Layla had legs that day on the beach. She didn’t understand how it all worked. When she had been at the auction and Mack had injected the mermaid with the needle and she grew legs she had become curious then again, wondering how it all worked, but today was not the day to ask.

And now, he hadn't just touched it; he had licked it! "This is crazy! What was he trying to do?" Amelia murmured frantically, her mind a whirlwind of confusion and disbelief. Struggling to regain her composure, her gaze darted around the room, and her eyes widened as she saw the unconscious human sprawled on the floor! "Oh dear! What have I done?" Her voice trembled with concern and regret, her hands fluttering as she contemplated the unintended consequences of her actions. Mermaids boasted remarkably strong tails, said to have the power to unleash tsunamis with a single flick. Though her upper body strength was nothing noteworthy, her kicks were certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Marina looked in the direction of the voice and she could see a man and a woman standing on top of the brown object, and she could also see they were the ones controlling the object taking out the fish from the ocean. Marina wanted to scold them for their actions, but she submerged instead. One of the lessons she received since she was a little mermaid was that no one from the surface should ever see her, and that was why she refrained herself from scolding the humans, but once she was underwater she made a plan. She swam to the fish, grabbed some of those intertwined seaweeds trapping them and started to pull them with all of her strength. She thought that if she pulled

shouted Helena to the open sea. She was like a madwoman screaming to herself. No answer. She looked down, the beautiful blue sea with colorful fish. Dimly she heard a humming sound, something foreign to her ears but pleasant and melodious; siren sound. Siren Aquamarine, the mermaid of the Caribbean sea who always tempts pirates and fishermen. They suck every soul that is subject to their beauty. Beautiful but deadly.
