There was something ethereal about it, almost calling me, beckoning me deeper into the labyrinth of the mansion. I turned a corner, and there it was—a small water body, shimmering with a soft, unnatural glow. The blue light was brighter now, swirling above the water like some kind of living energy, a pulse that seemed to come from the depths of the water itself. And then, there she was. The mermaid. A piece of the wall the size of a door falls away into the silt. Behind it is a small chamber. The chamber is dry. Her hair the silver of Calisto's, but plaited the way the Saragossa archivists plait theirs.

Draco said as he sat on one of the padded benches. The boat jostled a bit, as though reacquainting itself with the weight of passengers, then slipped off into deeper waters. “They’re stunning.” I admitted, staring out at a group of them. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so beautiful.” The water at my back began to ripple, and not from the boats gentle movements. I jolted as a head of fuchsia hair appeared, followed by a tail with scales the same color. The mermaid smiled brightly as I gaped at her. Her eyes were the brightest shade of green I’d ever seen. Like rolling hills baking beneath a setting sun.

She looked old enough to be my mother and she had pushed the men that had just tried to force me in and she squatted right in front of me. “Calm down,” her voice was soft as she spoke to me. “No,” I replied, shaking my head severally and shutting my eyes closed. “Please, I beg you to calm down. My name is Gwen and I’m the Luna of the pack. I promise we are not trying to hurt you.” She whispered to me, collecting my palm in her own hands and rubbing on it gently. “We just want to help, I promise.” Gwen reassured, she had the calmest and warmest smile I had ever seen and her brown eyes glistened under the morning sunlight, matching her hazel coloured hair. She was a beautiful woman.

Looking at him, he's smiling proudly. "I love you, my Luna." He said back as he inched closer. His hands met mine under the water and he pulled me towards him. Wrapping my hands around his neck and either leg on both sides of him, we swayed in the water together, the coolness not near enough to touch the heat between us two. His hands held me gently around my waist, leaning in and I kissed him. The kiss quickly deepened as love and heat took place, two hearts connected as one. The life I have always dreamed of is coming true, and it may have some bad points in it for now, but we can handle anything as long as we are together.

She shrieked as she crashed into the water, vanishing beneath the surface. Theo dusted off his jacket. "Yeah, we need to get out of here before we end up on a seafood platter." Suddenly, the mermaid resurfaced, wide-eyed with surprise as her gaze darted between Cameron and Falcon. "Lycans," she breathed, stunned. "It's been decades since we've seen your kind." Her mouth watered. "What a rare delicacy." But just as she was about to pounce again, a bolt of lightning cracked the sky and hit her square in the hand. She yelped in pain and fell back into the sea.

Lotus nodded and followed the both of them out of the ward but immediately they stepped out, a strong whirlwind came, taking Lotus away from them. "Lotus!!" They both screamed as Lotus disappeared without a trace. Martin ran out of the ward with Starr and smirked when he saw traces of water on the ground. "An evil mermaid," he said. "Her sis from Quenshi? She made her leave the river, why can't she just leave her alone and where the hell did she take my girlfriend to!" Starr said fearfully.
