Innocence Interrupted - A Mafia Story
Once he’s gone, I get up to pee, shower and put on a fluffy robe that’s hanging on a hook from the back of the door.
It’s way too big for me. But it’s warm and cosy and smells like Rafael. It’s like he’s here, embracing me, protecting me.
Humming softly, I hop down the stairs to the living room area where we left our bags last night.
My clothes are in an awful state. Wrinkled and messy, but I don’t care. I'm sure that nothing can spoil my good mood today.
I go in search of a laundry room, and find it off to the side, behind the kitchen. There’s a washer and dryer, but no iron or ironing board.
