I snuck down the stair quietly praying that I don't run into anyone. "Ooh! Look who got laid" I felt my heart skip a beat out of fear and my chest clenched as I turned to look up at Leah who was standing at the bottom of the stairs with a mug in her hand sipping what I am very sure was a hot cup of coffee. She was dressed in blue shorts, a pink tank top, and white flip-flops. Her hair was wet and it looked like she hadn't run a comb through it after she showered, she is running a finger over her forehead in a soothing circle, She has a hangover.

I hadn’t had it in me to go to Djinn and Juice tonight. I was a busy girl, so I could take a night off. It’s not like it would actually impact my client list, anyway. So, I was curled up with a book again, but a totally different book. A dirty book. Leah was out, working a late shift, so wouldn’t be back until the early hours of the morning. So, I was curled up with a cheesy romance that portrayed mate stricken werewolves in the wrong light, and it was just getting to the good part.

I had thought that it would burn me – taking a peek at the two women who were with me, they were back away from the fire, Leah patted the small flame that got on her pants, Lyv helping her put it out. I could still feel the heat, but what was odd was that the flames didn’t burn me. I lowered my hands slowly, looking at the book – now burning yet the pages were intact. My heart beat fast as I walked back to the podium. I blink, there was something new. I blinked again. I rubbed it, feeling the sting I had felt when Leah brought me to Neverwhere.

Leah was getting hungry just thinking about them. There was a landing pad on the edge of the town, and Leah headed straight for it, shifting as soon as she touched down. Back to human, she made her way to the cafe. As she entered the place, the scent of fresh baked goods hit her like a tsunami. She inhaled deeply, then headed to the counter to place her order. Once her order was ready, she smiled at the barista in thanks, then made her way to her usual spot in the back where the comfy lounge chairs and couches were. Leah and the Miracles were in the midst of a harrowing journey up the California coast with a company of Marines when Leesa woke up. As soon as she opened her eyes in the darkness, two thoughts came to her. First, with all the adventure and magical monsters in the dream, there definitely was a good book there, and probably a movie, too. Second—and more importantly—because the dream had repeated itself she now worried that it might be one of her magical visions. If it was, it was certainly the strangest she had ever experienced, and that was saying something. She wondered what this one might mean. Once again, she found herself wishing the dream had continued longer.

But the truth settled in my chest like a weight. Leah was more than she appeared. And something told me this was only the beginning. --- I stayed late that night. The tension in the room was suffocating, and I felt an overwhelming desire to uncover the truth and bring about some sense of resolution to the chaotic situation. Leah walked toward her workstation and retrieved a booklet, lifting it up to show it to Louisiana. "This here is the booklet where I keep all my designs," she stated firmly. Opening the booklet, she pointed to a particular design. "This is the design you claimed was yours, but I designed it while in fashion college," Leah explained, her voice tinged with a mix of relief and defiance.
