Leila’s POV The morning was cool and quiet as I slipped through the healer’s tent, cradling a small bowl of cooling salve. I’d treated most of the wounded, patched the new cuts from yesterday’s training, and had just enough time for one more patient: myself. I unwrapped the light bandage around my right forearm. Underneath lay the faint pink line of a scar, slightly raised, winding like a river of old pain. It had come from my first escape attempt, when I had fled Sebastian’s chamber. I’d been pushed against a stone wall; the mark had burned into my flesh, and later healed with the soft pink line that still held memories.

Lacy joins him, and you can tell from her fighting style she is her father's daughter. I hear a scream from behind me. I turn, and I see a scarred-faced elderly woman running toward me with a syringe in her hand. I grab her writs and snap it. Then I feel a burning stab in my back shoulder right in my Alpha mark. I look over my shoulder, and Nox is about to pull out the knife and stab me again. I toss the old woman to the ground and punch Nox square in the nose. He stumbles back, and his eyes are watering. His slender waist enhanced his manly appeal by emphasizing his V-shaped torso. His muscles were well-defined, and his legs were similarly impressive—long and muscular. His strong, athletic stance was attributed to his powerful calves and thick quads. His legs bore faint scars—a memory of the battles he had fought and a monument to his daring endeavors. Each scar represented a new chapter in his life's chronicle.

Each touch was deliberate, unhurried, a meditation on the shape and texture of her skin. Elif's hands wandered across his back, feeling the muscles shift and flex beneath his skin. She traced the scars there too, the ones she knew and the ones she did not. Some were old, faded to silver threads. Others were newer, pink and raised, still healing from the battles they had fought. "When did you get this one?" she asked, her fingers brushing a scar on his ribs. "Three weeks ago. One of Liesel's creatures." He kissed her neck. "It does not hurt anymore."

A sense of rightness and completion settled in my core. We held each other, panting, for a long while. Both of us spent. I must have dozed because I woke to Lysander tracing his fingertip over my skin. I lifted my arm to see the double crescent shaped mark that had already healed leaving a pale metallic gold scar. My gaze latched onto his chest. The scar there was the same. The golden color shimmered in the moonlight that filtered through the glass ceiling. “It’s beautiful,” I said. “It is.”

"Tell me about them. I want to know the stories behind each scar, the trials you've endured." Liam sighed, his gaze briefly flickering to the scars before returning to Rose's earnest gaze. "Some of the scars are from encounters with dangerous creatures, like the claw mark you were just tracing. That one is from a fierce battle with a monstrous beast deep in the forests of Eldoria. It took all of my strength to overcome it, and the scar serves as a reminder of the victory."

His eyes lit up in understanding and he nodded before he wrote it off. Just then, we heard a knock on the door, I turned toward it but Levi’s eyes remained focused on the file before him. “Yes? Come on in” I called out when I picked up Leila’s scent from behind the door. She walked in and I noticed that her scars from the unfortunate night with Cora still hadn't fully healed, the physician had explained that Leila would heal really slowly because her wolf had also been badly injured so it couldn't speed up her healing and she might even end up with a scar after the healing is complete.

He shouted. The way his face contorted made my heart squeeze and then begin to pound. He looked like he had witnessed the world’s worst horror. Tears even filled his eyes and I could hear his heart pounding louder than mine. Why this reaction? “Cass, it’s no big deal.” I made my tone softer. “It’s just a scar I got when I fell into the rose bushes in the past,” I repeated Doctor Lorenzo’s diagnosis. “Does it make sense for these scars to come from a simple fall?” He held my hands tighter. “These are deep wounds that could not heal on time. It has nothing to do with falling into a rose bush! Tell me, how did this happen!? Who did this to you?”

However before he did so, Lexie noticed something. Some evident marks were sprawled out on his back. They were already healed, leaving back scars more than five inches long and Lexie couldn't stop herself from asking... "Who did that to your back?" Zheme tensed against her, thick body becoming rigid. "That's none of your business, Lexie. Now go to bed." ★•†•|•†•★

He let me go in the next second, but before I could say or do anything, he disappeared. ‘We didn’t even get a chance to lick our mark on his body," Lotus said in concern. ‘It wouldn’t heal until we licked it. Nor would our mark form on his back.’ She added. ‘So, what?’ I asked her. ‘It’s not that he is dying because of that. Let him carry that ugly scar on his body for all the ugly words he said to me.’ I added, recalling all his insulting words. Just because I didn’t show him doesn’t mean I wasn’t hurt by his words.
