He simply sat there, one hand resting lazily on his thigh, gaze distant. Untouchable. And somehow seeing him like that—so far away, so unreachable—made something in my chest twist sharply. The spotlight swept across the room again and landed on Leonardo, seated comfortably like a king among sinners.

Okay, I just subscribed to Hunter’s point of view of Adam, but I don't remember Adam being a punch-thrower with anger issues. I take a deep breath and my phone dings with a notification. I check it and it's from Leonardo. My heart jumps. I click on the message: Let’s meet on tomorrow at 10 am sharp. I plan to shift that deal back to your brand. I hope you can make it this time. Let’s discuss how to move forward with it. “Oh my God!” My heart swells with so much joy it can't be contained. “I got the deal!” I look at Hunter with so much excitement, and a smile pulls at his lips.

Well, they were two entirely different people with different priorities in life. “Hey,” he said and smiled immediately. “Big Bro, I had a feeling you would be up here,” Leonard said as he approached Xavier on the balcony. He was however more muscular than his older brother because he visited the gym regularly, not like he had any work to do. He had just completed college and spent his days having fun, finding a job wasn’t even in his to do list, not even in his father’s own company.

April giggled, and we spent the next hour gossiping and laughing under the stars. As I finally said my goodbyes and headed home, I felt grateful for April's friendship and advice. I knew facing Gabe and Augustine wouldn't be easy, but with Luca by my side and April's encouragement, I felt ready to take on whatever came next.
