She held her breath as he took a long shot, slinging another ball into a pocket. "Fuck," she heard Sonny mutter. Nic took another shot, knocking his last colored ball in. He stood up straight and stared at the eight ball which was in a hard position. Victoria didn't know much about pool, but she could tell that the eight ball wasn't in an easy place, and she was sure he'd have to miss this shot. There was nowhere for it to go. She glanced at Sonny, and he looked like he was holding his breath. Nic bent over the table and slid the stick between his fingers twice then paused.
